It's hard to look good in a Souls game. You can't ignore attributes and stats for the sake of looking good and get away with it. Elden Ring and its predecessors require you to hone in on your skills, selecting exactly what works for your build and playthrough so that you can defeat all odds. Or have the potential to defeat them, anyway.

The truth of the matter is that you can wear anything you want so long as you don't get hit and have over 30 points into Vigor. There is a lot of really cool armor set pieces in Elden Ring, especially the ones that belonged to NPCs — they always end up looking cooler than the player character. Below are some of the best looking armor sets you can get in Elden Ring, and how to get them.

Updated on July 3, 2022 by Sharnelle Earle: There are many good armor sets in Elden Ring. Some are locked behind dangerous, undefeatable bosses. Some sets are hidden within the game files, forgotten about. Other pieces are simply pleasing to look at or add humor to the game. Those are the best looking armor sets in Elden Ring. Soulslike games are frustrating as it is, especially for casual gamers who have a harder time learning the combat. Lighten up the mood with a meme-able armor piece or something that simply catches your eye. There are tons of cool armor out there that you may have missed.

15 Albinauric Set

Elden Ring alinauric mask

This is both the funniest looking armor in Elden Ring, and therefore the coolest looking armor. This famous little face has been seen everywhere on the internet. It's very meme-worthy and brings softness to a harsh world. The entire set consists of the mask and an old chainmail chest piece.

The mask can be looted from a side room inside the Volcano Manor dungeon. The chainmail piece can be farmed from enemies wearing it near Academy Gate Town Site of Grace.

14 Omen Set

Elden Ring omen armor set in leyndell

It's time to become the Dung Eater himself. It's no secret that the Dung Eater is an infamous character in Elden Ring — the name itself is hilarious and brings up a lot of questions.

You can find the fated man himself within the Leyndell Sewers, after acquiring your first Seedbed Curse inside the capital. Whether you immediately kill him upon finding him or you finish his questline, you will find the Omen set where his corpse would be.

13 Night's Cavalry

Elden Ring nights cavalry in weeping peninsula

You thought regular patrolling knights were scary enough? Try visiting the same place at night, where you'll find knights cloaked in darkness and riding black horses instead. Colorful, exuberant armor is cool and all, but nothing beats blacked-out garb.

They appear in different locations at night throughout the Lands Between, such as Limgrave, Liurnia, and Caelid. Each optional boss drops an Ash of War, and some drop matching black weapons. But only the one found in Consecrated Snowfield drops the armor set.

12 Fire Prelate

Elden Ring fire prelate enemy in mountaintops of giants

The Fire Prelate set doesn't necessarily make you look badass, but it's funny and scary at the same time. You get to wear a bright red dress and a chalice on your head. Running around with those two things is funny enough, but the set is meant to be large fitting, so you know the user is a tank by default.

As expected, this heavy armor is far from the coolest looking, but it is great against Fire damage. The full set can be dropped by farming Prelate enemies found in Fort Laiedd and Guardian's Garrison.

11 Mushroom Set

Elden Ring mushroom armor set in lake rot

Say goodbye to low immunitiy with mushroom armor. This is the only armor that offers the best increase in immunity, which protects you against Scarlet Rot and poison. You'll want to find and wear this armor set when traversing Lake Rot or a poisonous cave.

The full set can be looted from a side room in Seethewater Cave. You can find an alternative mushroom helm in the back North-West wall in Lake Rot.

10 Fia's Deathbed Robe

Fia in Elden Ring

When you first visit the Roundtable Hold, you'll stumble upon Fia. The nice lady who offers you a hug. Now, we all know by now that her hug gives players a debuff for the rest of the game unless they cleanse themselves.

For all the players that enjoy wearing dresses and fun cloaks in fantasy games, you can actually get Fia's entire outfit. Fia's outfit can be acquired at the very end of her personal questline. This set piece comes with only two pieces - the top hooded layer, and the skirt. It has more damage negation against magical attacks rather than Physical, Strike, etc.

9 General Radahn's Armor

Elden Ring Legendary Armor purchase

For strength builds and those who prefer to look strong and important, Radahn's armor is a dream come true. Starscourge Radahn is notably one of the hardest boss fights in Elden Ring. What players may fail to realize is that every time you kill a demi-God in the game, you can purchase their armor at Enia's story.

Enia is the old lady who reads fingers in Roundtable Hold, and will be available once you defeat Godrick in Limgrave. The armor's damage negation is strong across the board against magic and physical, ranging from 27-41.

8 Sorcerer Lusat's Armor

Elden Ring sorcerer lusat armor

For all the mages out there, there's some cool-looking armor available for you in the future. You don't have to wear that Astrologer garb for long. This armor set is unique because most mage armor is not really armor at all. They are just dull-colored robes that are usually not better than the starting attire, stat-wise.

Sorcerer Lusat's set-piece comes with a giant feathery cape and large blue crystals sprouting from your shoulders and head. It can be obtained after completing Sorceress Sellen's questline, and siding with her. Damage negation is around 10-15 for Physical attacks and 27-32 for Magic.

7 Guardian Of The Erdtree

Elden Ring guardian of erdtree armor

This is a lesser-known set-piece in the game that you can acquire in the capital city, Leyndell. It's a mixture of nature themes and light armor. When you climb the ginormous tree branches to reach the spectral version of the boss Godfrey, you'll run into some little guys. These little guys on the tree branches are easy to either two-shot or completely ignore and run past.

They are known as guardians of the Erdtree and their armor of the same name can easily be farmed from them, alongside a matching melee weapon. This is a four-piece armor set. Damage negation between Physical and Magical attacks is across the board around 19-24.

6 Blaidd's Armor

Elden Ring Blaidd armor set

Blaidd is one of the more popular NPCs in Elden Ring. Blaidd is a half-wolf with a delectable voice and a passion for an honest and bloody fight. He can first be found at Mistwood Ruins in East Limgrave. Blaidd's personal armor consists of regular silver-plated armor mixed with fur and wolf features.

Officially, his armor consists of three pieces. A wolf helm can be found to complete it, but for obvious reasons is not titled Blaidd's Helmet because... That was his face. Damage negation is across the board around 10-15.

5 Witch Hunter Jerren's Armor

Elden Ring jerrens armor

Witch Hunter Jerren is an interesting character. You first meet him when preparing to fight Starscourge Radahn for Ranni's questline. He is the public announcer you speak to. While his armor may not entirely seem epic and that of a warrior, it is silly and fun. The light armor provides easy mobility and comes in four pieces.

The only way to acquire Jerren's set is by completing Sorceress Sellen's personal questline. To start it, you first must find her at the Waypoint Ruins in Limgrave, then make your way to Mt Gelmir to find Sorcerer Azur. At the very end of her questline, you must choose to side with Sellen to be able to acquire Jerren's Eccentric armor.

4 Godskin Armor

Elden Ring godskin armor

The Godskin Duo reeks havoc on the Elden Ring fanbase. They are a late-game boss that is exceptionally hard to face, even with summons and help. What may help is dressing as their kind before entering battle. There are multiple solo Godskins in this world, with one in Atlus Plateau and one in Caelid.

The one within Caelid will drop the Godskin Apostle armor set that comes in four pieces. Getting to this optional boss fight will be difficult, as you will need to progress through the Divine Tower of Caelid, which acts as a dungeon. Damage negation is around 6-13 for Physical attacks and 27-30 for Magical.

3 Snow Witch Armor

Elden Ring ranni's armor in mountain tops giants

The Snow Witch outfit is by far one of the cutest and most desirable armor sets in all of Elden Ring. It is the outfit worn by our beloved Ranni The Witch and yes, it is very much accessible for use.

The set comes in three pieces - the hat, skirt, and robe. To get the full effect, you can even return to the Roundtable Hold and change your skin color and hair to blue. Damage negation is around 7-11 for Physical and 25 for Magic. The only way to obtain Ranni's outfit is by completing her personal questline.

2 Royal Remains Armor

Elden Ring royal remains skull armor set

This armor set is one of the most badass-looking sets in Elden Ring. The helmet is literally a creepy skull. It's the exact armor that an NPC in the Roundtable Hold wears. This is the NPC that leans against the wall and can never be spoken to, as he refuses to speak. When you first interact with him, you unlock an emote, but that's about it.

You must acquire the right side of the secret medallion by finding a hidden NPC in the Village of Albinaurics. Once you have it, returning to the Roundtable Hold results in an instant invasion by Ensha, so be prepared. Once he's defeated, you can collect his armor where he used to stand. The damage negation on it is 25-28 for Physical and 17-22 for Magic.

1 Goldmask's Armor

Elden Ring Goldmask at altus plateau

Goldmask doesn't necessarily look dangerous and cool, but who doesn't want to look like that for the memes? Goldmask is a precious character whose outfit you can actually acquire. It involves completing his questline. Throughout your journey to be Elden Lord, Goldmask and Brother Corhyn will move to different locations, only if you speak to them first.

As you speak with Goldmask and Corhyn and progress past Crumbling Farum Azula, Goldmask's outfit can be looted back at Leyndell. This gives you only the lower half of his outfit. The official Goldmask headpiece can be looted early on in Atlus Plateau at the very edge of part of the broken bridge.
