For those who are in long-distance relationships, gaming is an excellent way to spend time with a loved one when they otherwise might not be able to. Elden Ring is just one example of a game that a couple could play together, and two players recently became popular on Elden Ring's subreddit for setting up what looked like a lovely little date in The Lands Between. That is, until the most FromSoftware thing happened and an invader ruined everything.

While it's currently unknown who the lovely couple actually are, they were spotted in the middle of what seemed like a date by Redditor Jolly_Old_Lautrec. Both players were found in the building just before you get to the Erdtree, a variety of different colored Rainbow Stones scattered across the ground to provide some romantic lighting. One player had Varre's Bouquet in their hand, while the other was calling them beautiful with the required Prattling Pate tool. It's a touching scene.

Now, the polite thing that most people would do after coming across this would be to hightail it out of there and leave the two lovebirds alone. However, Jolly_Old_Lautrec isn't like most people and decided to become a major third wheel. In a seperate video, one of the couple can be seen directing them towards a railing above a large drop, not so sublty suggesting that Jolly_Old_Lautrec jump off so they and their partner can have their alone time in peace.

To their credit, Jolly_Old_Lautrec did as the couple asked, although instead of jumping off like a normal person would, they quickly chugged their Wondrous Physick and used the One-Eyed Shield to blast all three of them to smithereens. Jolly_Old_Lautrec fell to their death, but the couple had also been blown to pieces, their date in ruins. All Jolly_Old_Lautrec got for their maidenless behaviour was a Rune Arc and the satisfaction of knowing they destroyed the one tender moment in all of Elden Ring.
