Just as it seemed as if Elden Ring's first anniversary was going to come and go without a peep out of FromSoftware, the big announcement came. The Lands Between is getting DLC, and the millions of you who play Elden Ring have been studying the single Shadow of the Erdtree image revealed so far so closely that you're now starting to see clues in its logo.

Redsonatnight sparked the latest discussion surrounding Elden Ring DLC theories over on the game's subreddit. The player has posted an image focusing on the O in the word Shadow on the DLC's logo, suggesting the spiky bits emitting from each side of it look a little like Death Blight. A status effect that can lead to one of the more gruesome ways to die in The Lands Between.

While there are plenty of replies suggesting the player who has brought the theory to the table might be hunting a little too hard for clues, others have added to the Death Blight idea to help it make more sense. Many of you quickly decided the person riding a horse in the DLC image is Miquella. If that turns out to be accurate, then the idea that Shadow of the Erdtree is a prequel to Elden Ring's main story might be aided by the new Death Blight theory.

A number of players have suggested the DLC takes place before Miquella was in his cocoon at the beginning of the Death Blight in The Lands Between. Others believe the Erdtree looks like it is being hit with Death Blight, tied Godwyn into the theory, and further compounded that the O in the logo looking like it might have the status effect is no accident.

As noted, some of you aren't so sure. Others have suggested the appendages on the O look more like lightning or the roots of a tree. Since the DLC is called Shadow of the Erdtree, that last, somewhat simple theory would actually make a lot of sense. It might be a while before we find out for sure as it was rumored this week Armored Core 6 will launch before Elden Ring's DLC.
