Elden Ring is making waves ahead of its imminent release. Yesterday after the embargo dropped on reviews, we all found out that pretty much every major publication gave Elden Ring a perfect score, including this one. That’s not to say that Elden Ring will be the best game of all time, but it very well might.

And that excitement has translated into quite a lot of people looking at Elden Ring previews on Twitch. Streamers and beta testers are able to broadcast their gameplay on Twitch now that the embargo is over, and Elden Ring has already shot to the top of Twitch’s viewer charts.

As of the time of this writing, Elden Ring streams have 744,000 viewers, while the usual top category of Just Chatting has just over 700,000. If that’s not enough, games industry YouTuber @BenjiSales notes that Elden Ring is absolutely crushing its previous all-time highs from its previous games, with Sekiro topping out at around 280,000 viewers and Dark Souls 3 around 270,000 viewers.

Keep in mind this is all before Elden Ring has even been released. The official release time varies by region, but it'll be here very soon. Following that, Twitch will either be inundated with people looking to catch a glimpse of Elden Ring gameplay or be completely empty of viewers as everyone starts playing on their own.

If you're interested in Elden Ring but worried about the reputation of FromSoftware games being stupidly difficult, our own Jade King says Elden Ring is "the most approachable FromSoftware game yet." That's not to say it's easy, but Elden Ring lets you tackle challenges at your own pace. You're free to take fights or leave them as you wish, providing players with the option of returning to more difficult boss fights after they level up their skills.
