Many wonderful weapons can be found strewn about the world of Elden Ring. The Meteorite Staff is one such weapon that is well worth hunting down for players looking to build their character around the intelligence stat and the use of sorceries.

The Meteorite Staff is fairly easy to find, even for players who are just starting on their journey. Although the weapon can’t be upgraded using smithing stones, it scales excellently with intelligence, to begin with, making it an essential pickup for magic users. If you’re looking for a good staff that will carry you through the early to mid-game, the Meteorite Staff is an excellent choice.

Where To Find The Meteorite Staff

The Meteorite Staff can be found in the Caelid region of the map, which is the eastern region denoted by the overwhelming presence of the colour red. If you’re just starting and are looking to get the Meteorite Staff, it’s possible, but the journey will be a bit more perilous.

If you haven’t gone to Caelid yet, one of the quickest ways will be to go to the Dragonburnt Ruins in Limgrave, head downstairs into the lower room of the ruins, and open up the trick chest which will teleport you to the hostile crystal cave in northeast Caelid. From here, you can escape the cave and use your mount to explore Caelid and find the maps and sites of grace.

For higher-level players who have already explored the Caelid region a bit, you can ride or teleport straight to one of the sites of grace nearest to Streets of Sages Ruin. The two nearest sites are Astray from Caelid Highway North or Smoldering Wall.

Elden Ring Meteorite Staff Location Two

Head east from either of these points to just below where Streets of Sages Ruin is marked on the map. In the bloody Swamp of Aeoina that surrounds the ruins, seek out a ruined building (shown above) with some steps near the edge. Beware of enemies around here that can easily poison, and the swamp itself that can inflict scarlet rot after prolonged exposure. Run through the swamp whilst sprinting or use your mount to avoid this.

Elden Ring Meteorite Staff Location Three

Enter this small section of ruins which contains a few plant enemies. Take them out using ranged attacks from the outside or use a charged heavy attack on all of them at once, then enter the room to find the Meteorite Staff on the body hanging from the window. You can now equip the staff, which has an ‘S’ in intelligence scaling, making it an excellent staff for those using sorceries!

Meteorite Staff Stats

Elden Ring Meteorite Staff In Action

The meteorite staff is an excellent weapon for the early game as it only requires 18 Intelligence to wield effectively. In addition, the scaling in intelligence means that if intelligence is your primary stat, the staff will do effective magic damage.

The downside of this weapon which makes it less effective for long-term use is that it can't be upgraded using smithing stones at the round table to increase its damage or scaling. Similarly, Ashes of War cannot be applied to this weapon, meaning it may lose favour when you find a staff that offers similar stats that can still be upgraded in these essential ways. It does, however, provide a solid option for magic build players who are still building their stats in addition to those taking sorcery as a secondary skill.
