Elden Ring has spawned some of the hardest bosses - both major and optional - and regular enemies, overwhelming you due to sheer strength or numbers. In the previous Soulsborne games, you are pretty much on your own when it comes to fighting off enemies, aside from the occasional quest where an NPC will help you like the Onion Knight from Dark Souls 3.

But FromSoftware has introduced the mechanic of Ash Spirit Summons to give you a bit of a helping hand when it comes to combat. Although there are some amazing standard Ash Spirit Summons, Elden Ring's Legendary Spirit Ash Summons has got something to suit every build.

6 Redmane Knight Ogha

Elden Ring Redmane Knight Ogha

If you are currently playing as a tank, then Redmane Knight Ogha is the perfect Ash Spirit Summons as support. You will be able to find Ogha's Spirit Ashes after defeating Starscourge Radahn, where you will traverse the open area straight to the War-Dead Catacombs.

Redmane Knight Ogha deals massive ranged damage with the same magical bow and arrows that Radahn uses on you throughout the fight. However, he does not persevere well against a flurry of attacks due to his main purpose as support. Although he can do melee attacks, it is not as destructive as his ranged weapons. But if you need someone to deal massive damage from afar, then Redmane Knight Ogha is your guy.

5 Cleanrot Knight Finlay

Elden Ring Cleanrot Knight Finlay

Cleanrot Knight Finlay's Ashes are found in the Prayer Room of Elphael, Brace of the Haligtree, where you have to fight an enemy to open the chest. Armed with a sword and a magical scythe, Finlay can perform ranged and melee attacks.

Unfortunately, since it doesn't have a shield or any evasion skills, its defensive capabilities lag behind some other Spirit Ashes. However, it does distribute massive damage with its scythe emitting discs of light, as well as its speed in meting out attacks.

4 Ancient Dragon Knight Kristoff

Elden Ring Ancient Dragon Knight Kristoff

Now if you are in need of a tank since you are playing as a mage, then Ancient Dragon Knight Kristoff is the one for you. Kristoff's Spirit Ashes can be obtained in the Sainted Hero's Grave in Leyndell, the Royal Capital after defeating the Ancient Hero of Zamor boss.

As a Dragon Knight, Kristoff has the ability to summon thunderbolts against your enemies. He bathes the tip of his spear with electricity as well, piercing enemies and dealing large amounts of damage. He performs a shield bash with his massive shield that could stun enemies. So if you need a frontline tank to take some hefty damage for you, look no further than Dragon Knight Kristoff.

3 Lhutel The Headless

Elden Ring Lhutel the Headless

Lhutel the Headless is a strong early-game option for you to equip in your armory if in need of some backup. This Legendary Ash Spirit can be obtained after defeating the Cemetery Shade at the Tombsward Catacombs in the Weeping Peninsula.

Similar to the boss you got it from, Lhutel the Headless has the ability to phase in and out of existence. This teleportation ability allows her to evade enemy attacks and prolong her life. Lhutel is certainly the complete package, serving as both a tank and support build. Her shield bash and quick spear attacks and the ability to mete out ranged attacks with precision result in massive damage.

It's a real blessing that the game grants you this Legendary Spirit Summon in the first region of the Lands Between.

2 Black Knife Tiche

Elden Ring Black Knife Tiche

The Black Knife Tiche Summon is one of the best Legendary Ash Spirit Summons in the game. After defeating Alecto, Black Knife Ringleader at the Ringleader's Evergaol in Moonlight Plateau, you will be granted Tiche's Spirit Ashes as a reward.

Not only can Black Knife Tiche heal herself, but her dodging and evasion skills are on point, as all assassins are meant to be. Since her knife is woven with the Rune of Death, she can unleash it on the enemy and cause large amounts of their health to drain gradually. Even though she costs 132 FP to summon, it is more than worth it. So upgrading Black Knife Tiche to her highest level is definitely recommended, as she deals massive damage to enemies as hard as Astel, Naturalborn of the Void.

1 Mimic Tear

Elden Ring Mimic Tear Ash Summons

Arguably the most OP Legendary Spirit Ash Summons Elden Ring has to offer, the Mimic Tear Ashes is a doppelganger summon of your own character. There's nothing more terrifying than fighting yourself in the Mimic Tear boss fight, but thankfully the Mimic Tear Ashes are on your side.

Simply put, the Mimic Tear Ashes can do everything you do. From healing itself to attacking with whatever weapon or incantations, as well as equip any such talismans you have on hand. You'll be able to access the Mimic Tear Ashes after defeating the boss with the same name in Nokron, Eternal City, before proceeding to the Night's Sacred Ground where you'll find it in a chest.

Note that you have to have a Stonesword Key on hand in order to traverse the fog wall and get to the chest.
