Elden Ring players have noticed that the world map looks like a Furled Finger.

Fingers are a theme that's present throughout much of Elden Ring, but nowhere is it more apparent than with the Furled Fingers. These items let your Tarnished put down a summon sign to allow other players to invite them into their game. Depending on how much you play co-op, they're easily one of the most important items in Elden Ring.

Furled Fingers might be more than just an item in the game world - they might be a part of the very DNA of that world. Spoilers ahead for Elden Ring's full map but, as spotted by Redditor Sevenpointseven on the Elden Ring subreddit, when zoomed all the way out it looks like a Furled Finger.

It's a rough drawing around the map and it requires flipping the Furled Finger to be in the same position as it, but it's remarkable how similar the two end up looking. There are even some similarities in the splinters at the end of the finger and the colour of the map. The edit of the photo from Sevenpointseven also gets rid of a fair bit of the small islands along the world, but even with that in mind the two still end up having the same shape.

Is it purposeful? That's what the Elden Ring community is currently arguing about. One Redditor points out that, "I did always think it was weird that the island was shaped like that, why would it just go north-west and have a bend in it? Does not feel like something you just do. If I made a map like that I wouldn't feel good about it, but if his goal was to make it look like the finger then I would be super proud of it".

On the other hand, some Redditors think it's just a coincidence or that there's been too much messing around with the map, with one saying, "Lots of landmass to the south west and a bunch of the north side of the map are getting cut off. Also you're including tons of ocean as part of the map".
