The Old Atlus Tunnel is one of many mining caves in Elden Ring. These mining caves are abundant with Smithing Stones and Somber Smithing Stones for upgrading your weapons. While completing dungeons and caves is not necessary for finishing the game, mines are an important part of upgrading your character.

This tunnel system is located within the Atlus Plateau region. It's accessible from the lower ravine, just North-East of Atlus Plateau Site of Grace. The best way to get to this lower pathway is by getting through the campsite to the West of Atlus Highway Junction Site of Grace. The Old Atlus Tunnel will be to your left and blocked off by an imp statue fog wall - it also requires you to run past a troll. Before using the wooden lift to enter the tunnel system, turn around. There are Explosive Stone Clumps to loot from a corpse.

Past the Grace, there will be a small hut with an enemy inside it. Note that these miner enemies are very weak to magic, and they use lanterns as a flamethrower type of weapon.

There are explosive barrels all within this tunnel, so be careful against miners with lanterns.

Inside the hut will be an undead dog hiding behind some barrels, waiting to surprise you. Outside the hut, against the right side, is a Smithing Stone (5). The various huts within these tunnels will always have Smithing Stones hiding beside or behind them.

Continuing through the tunnels, a ladder will be in front of you. You'll notice some areas below you that you can safely jump down to. That's where you're supposed to go, so use the ladder first to collect all possible Smithing Stones.

On the other side of the hut, some Stanching Boluses can be looted from a corpse. A Smithing Stone (5) is hiding behind the barrels where the miner was, too.

Stonedigger Troll Boss Fight Guide

elden ring old atlus tunnel stonedigger troll boss

You would have dealt with many trolls in your Tarnished lifetime, having left Limgrave. This troll is a little different because it has hard, stone skin much like that of the miners within crystal tunnels. While this makes the troll a little tougher, it also means he's weaker to magic damage.

The Stonedigger Troll's movesets are similar to that of other trolls you've faced, so you'll be able to predict attacks and stay alive. The issue lies in his rock-hard skin, where melee players won't be able to do much without their sword bouncing off. Because of this, make sure to use the most blunt-force weapon you have.

Upon defeat, the Stonedigger Troll drops the Great Club weapon.
