With well over 100 bosses, Elden Ring is FromSoft’s largest, most expansive, and content-rich offering to date. With enemies ranging from the traditional dragon to aliens fallen from the distant reaches of space, there is something here for everyone. Killing every boss is not required to beat the game, however, and a number can simply be found hidden away in the overworld, waiting for an unsuspecting tarnished to wander into their lair. The Omenkiller is one such boss, found in the game’s second main area, and as part of Nepheli Loux’s questline - this is one you will not want to miss.

Located in the western corner of Liurnia, the Omenkiller is found at the end of an area known as the Village of the Albinaurics. This area is one of import to two key questlines in Elden Ring, notably Nepheli Loux’s story and your quest to reach the Haligtree. Indeed, this area has some serious lore implications, not least showing our good friend Gideon to be a not-so-great guy.
The boss itself can be a challenging one if you come unprepared. Having limited attacks but high damage, the Omenkiller decides it's best to outnumber you, bringing with it a number of dog enemies to ruin your day. However, if you bring aid and learn this boss’ very limited moveset, the fight can be overcome with relative ease, rewarding you with runes and a useful talisman.
Omenkiller Attacks
Strategies
There are two main tactics for taking on this masked enemy.
Ranged Approach
For a ranged approach, enter the boss arena and first take out the dogs, locking onto them on the right hand side of your screen. Taking out these canine foes is vital, as they will interrupt your arrows or spells with their quick attacks. Once this is done, focus on the Omenkiller, countering his attacks as explained above.
Overall, once you have the timings down on his very limited moveset, this fight can be won quite quickly. If you are struggling, or simply want to level the playing field, you can summon both your spirit ashes and Nepheli Loux, an NPC phantom, in this boss fight.
The arena is filled with debris, including a fire pit, and is very dark, so be aware of your surroundings in order to avoid falling out of the area.
Melee Approach
The melee approach is slightly more complicated and runs the risk of you taking much more damage than the ranged route. Just like the ranged approach, make quick work of the dogs as soon as you enter the arena.
Following this, stick close to the boss when he uses melee, rolling through his attacks to gain an advantage. When he uses his flame breath, create distance from the boss. Once again, if you wish to level the playing field, summon to your heart's content. As a melee user, bleed is more easily at your disposal, check your weapon collection and try to use one with the status effect - the Omenkiller crumbles under bleed build-up.
Once again, be careful to not fall out of the arena, this will force you to work your way around to the start of the village once more.
General Tips
