We're coming up to the one-year anniversary of Elden Ring, and Bandai Namco has announced it'll celebrate the occasion in Stockholm, Sweden. Why Stockholm? Nobody knows, but there will be a live show, contests, prize giveaways, and lots more. The announcement was made on Bandai Namco's Nordic Twitter account. The event will take place at the Red Bull Gaming Sphere (which is sort of like a giant internet cafe slash arcade) on February 25. Besides being live broadcast on Twitch, the show will include prize giveaways, drinks, a pub quiz, and PvP tournaments. More details will drop in the coming days.Related: Elden Ring Players Think Hooves Are The Secret To Surviving CaelidWhile a celebration of 2022's game of the year is a fine thing, Elden Ring fans are wondering why Stockholm was chosen as the venue. The rest are wondering if Bandai Namco will use the anniversary show to make a much-anticipated DLC announcement.

Speculation has been running rampant about Elden Ring DLC for months now, as fans have eagerly tried to piece together gaps on the map while diving into possible nuggets of lore that have yet to be expanded on. Game director Hidetaka Miyazaki even suggested that a DLC is on the way, and more recently, the Steam play-test branch was updated after months of dormancy. The last time the play-test branch got an update it preceded the Colosseum patch, so fans think that we could see DLC drop very soon indeed. What better occasion than the anniversary of Elden Ring’s release?

One final note: FromSoftware's Instagram was also recently updated after going without a post for months. Fans think this will be a countdown to Elden Ring's birthday, but perhaps it'll also count down to the game's first paid DLC.
