Elden Ring player InfernoPlus has become a sensation for beating bosses without even lifting a finger. InfernoPlus merely summons a few spirits before sitting back and relaxing while their new companions do all the heavy lifting.

InfernoPlus made the news last week for taking out the Tree Sentinel by summoning the Raya Lucaria Soldiers and then more or less literally sitting on their hands. The player is back making headlines this week for summoning Banished Knight Oleg in order to beat bosses like Bell Bearing Hunter and Leonine Misbegotten while performing a variety of different gestures including lying on the floor in the fetal position. InfernoPlus may not even be holding their controller the entire time.

While summoning allies works well at first, InfernoPlus mentioned that later on in the game, players have to be a bit more involved. InfernoPlus told Kotaku during an interview that “you can have a high level summon beat pretty much every single boss in Limgrave, Stormveil, Raya Lucaria, and Liurnia. But after that, you have to start helping.”

“Bosses in Caelid and Altus are just a bit too strong for summons to do completely unaided,” the player said. “I will say that the summons are insanely powerful, though, and can pretty much carry you through some endgame fights as long as you are actively helping.” InfernoPlus remarked that “I would even go so far as to say that the good summons are better than actual players in most cases. This is mainly because the game increases boss hit points when you summon real players, but it does not do this for spirit summons.”

Fighting a boss on a Mount in Elden Ring

This comes in the wake of news that speedrunners have been beating Elden Ring in well under an hour. The fastest among them, Distortion2, has even finished the game in just under 30 minutes. What other stunts players are planning remains to be seen, but they’ve already pulled off some pretty impressive feats.
