There's a big divide among Elden Ring players right now. And no, it's not about difficulty for once. It's currently very easy to tell the Dark Souls veterans and FromSoft newcomers apart, as some players are shocked to come across signs that read "try fingers but hole". The game hasn't even been out for 24 hours, and fans are already leaving as many lewd messages as they can. They're also tricking players to fall to their deaths in the hopes of finding treasure, and looking for "hidden paths" that don't actually exist. This will surprise no one with the misfortune of having fallen for these tricks before.Related: There's Nothing Like A Soulsborne's Launch WeekPlayers across the board are being greeted with the infamous "fingers but" message as soon as they enter the game. But that certainly isn't the end of it. Fans are getting creative with the system, leaving the oddest and least helpful messages they can.

Other less than helpful hints include signs near inaccessible paths, insisting that there's actually treasure down there. Leaving many to waste their time trying to get into an area that they physically can't.

But not every message is there to throw players off. Some are just creative uses of the words FromSoft has made available this time around. This includes a whole bunch of "fort night" references, as well as some slightly NSFW sentences about "seeds" - I think you can figure out what they're going for there.

Quite possibly the best one yet has to be the fact that every creature with four legs is standing next to a message that reads "dog?". For their sakes, I really hope they find that dog eventually - it would probably be the most thing to happen since the game's launch.

If this hasn't put you off, Elden Ring is available to pick up now on PC, PlayStation and Xbox. Although judging by some early reviews from both critics and players, you might want to give the PC version a miss for now.
