Elden Ring is getting ray-tracing at some point. When? We don't know, but it's coming. But while you wait, you can grab a mod on PC that turns RTX on, giving the game a face-lift for your next playthrough. Or your current one if you're still knee-deep in the Lands Between.

Titled Elden Ring 2, MANgamez's reshade improves the graphics by giving it "more details, more AO, better reflections, better shadows, optional ray-tracing," while making the atmosphere "a bit sombre and more grim." That being said, the mod does try to stay true to the original vision.

Attached to the page are a slew of screenshots comparing the same scenes with RTX on and off, showing the improvements that ray-tracing and the reshade bring. Armour glimmers better in the light, water reflects the surroundings more accurately, and shadows are noticeably deeper and more realistic.

It shouldn't be too demanding to install, either. Granted you have the right hardware, you shouldn't see a dip in FPS. According to MANgamez, they got "full fps in max settings on 2560x1440p." But if you do suffer from stuttering and lag, they have attached a guide on how to fix the problem, giving you a more stable experience with the mod.

In other Elden Ring modding news, one developer has added an easy mode to the game, making it more accessible to those who are having a hard time. Commence the discourse. It halves the damage you receive from enemies, ups your own damage by 25 percent, and multiplies the number of runes you get by ten - grinding just got a whole lot easier. Granted, this is a 'cheat', so you shouldn't play online with it. The reshade should be fine, though.

There are also mods that fix the invisible enemies bug, add a pause option, and let you actually cheat. If you fancy spawning in a greatsword that two-shots Godrick, you can. But don't bring it into online PvP - that's a surefire way of getting banned.
