Elden Ring speedruns are getting faster and faster. Just last week, getting the game done in under two hours was seen as a fantastic accomplishment. Then beating the game in an hour was the new bar. Now that bar is getting set at just under 30 minutes, and it really makes you wonder just how low can Elden Ring players go?

The fun part is that our 28 minute and 59-second run is from the same guy who's been making incredible progress over the past several days. Distortion2 started his first Elden Ring any% speedrun at 49 minutes just four days ago, coming in soon after another speedrunner broke the one-hour barrier. Distortion2 then followed that 49-minute run with a 33-minute run just yesterday to claim the world record.

Today, Distortion2 beats his own record to finish Elden Ring in just under 29 minutes.

"If I can get sub-29 [minutes] I'd be relatively happy," Distortion2 says right at the start. He then goes on to perform a nearly perfect run, with very few player errors.

For those unaware, speedrunning Elden Ring mostly involves a lot of running past combatants. There are a few intentional deaths that allow you to bypass parts of the map, and there's a trick to save and exit the game in order to skip some cutscenes. Other than that, it's all skill at tackling Elden Ring's required bosses.

As you can see, Distortion2 has plenty of skill, defeating the Elden Beast with just a second and a sliver of health to spare. And all in less time than it takes to get pizza delivery. "The 'pizza percent’ run, let's go!"

Can Distortion2 get Elden Ring done even faster? Maybe, but for now, he's going to let his 28-minute run stand until someone else beats it. Or at least until some new strategies appear to shave off even more time.
