Elden Ring is undoubtedly a game that makes you use your mind. Not necessarily to solve puzzles and riddles, but even during the most basic combat instances. Knowing an enemy's attack patterns, when to block, when to roll, and when to back off are all essential if you want to sit on the Elden Lord's throne. And, while we need to use our brains for this, it can only be implemented via our hands on the controller – like every video game ever made. However, streamer Perrikaryal has been working toward changing this formula. Last month, we reported on how the streamer has been trying to play Elden Ring via her mind, using an EEG – a device that can track and record brain activity. This is then converted to keystrokes, used to control The Tarnished. It seems like something out of a sci-fi movie, but it's just science, and mastery over your mind – mastery that comes with hours of trainingRELATED: I Hope Elden Ring's DLC Is Something None Of Us Have GuessedPerrikaryal holds a Master's degree in psychology, which explains how she knows how to use the EEG (thanks, GamesRadar). While the streamer is currently only able to attack using this method, she has been training herself rigorously in order to gain full control of The Tarnished; sometimes "maybe 11 hours of straight training."

However, it's not easy to train your brain in such a way. The streamer admitted that at times it works fine, and other times it just won't. "You can train the software as much as you want, but you're not always guaranteed that you're going to be doing the same thing," she said. "Sometimes I absent-mindedly tap my foot, and that completely messes up the whole thing, because it adds a little 'squiggle' somewhere else."

Perrikaryal went on to mention that the mind isn't the only thing that needs training; even an unconscious tap of the foot could cause things to go haywire. Naturally, this is as physically draining as it is mentally. We've seen some impressive feats when it comes to Elden Ring – including acoustic guitars and dance mats, but if Perrikaryal can pull this off, it will be one of the most iconic feats in gaming history.
