There are many ways to look cool in Elden Ring. One of them is by wielding two katanas at once. The Uchigatana is one of the many sought-after weapons for melee builds as it causes Blood Loss build-up, making it essential for a beginner Blood-Loss build. It's a katana that has made appearances in previous FromSoftware games, such as Dark Souls.

There is one easy way to obtain a single Uchigatana, but how do you find another? This is a quick guide to the power the sword holds and how to acquire not only one, but two of them. Dual-wielding is the first step in intimidation when it comes to PvP. Without dual-wielding, the Uchigatana is still a powerful early weapon you'll want to get your hands on.

The Uchigatana causes Blood Loss build-up of 45, and comes with the weapon skill Unsheathe. This allows you to sheath your sword, then follow up with a normal attack to create a stronger slash. It weighs in at 5.5 with a Physical Attack of 115 and Critical of 100. The sword sells for 100 Runes, and can be enhanced via Smithing Stones and Ashes of War.

By equipping two of these swords at once, you can activate a Powerstance which doubles your raw damage and Blood Loss build-up. Some great additions to these swords are Ash of War: Seppuku and the talisman Lord Of Blood's Exultation.

Starting Class

The easiest way to get an Uchigatana is by choosing the Samurai class when you start a new game, as it will come with one automatically equipped alongside a bow. If you want to dual-wield this sword, you will have to start your game as this class to get a second. You could also trade with an online player.

Deathtouched Catacombs

Elden Ring Deathtouched Catacombs Location Map

The hardest way to get an Uchigatana is by looting it from the Deathtouched Catacombs. There is a lot of loot within these catacombs, so check out our full guide to this dungeon. This will walk through all the loot available, and how to find and kill the boss.

You're in luck here, because the Deathtouched Catacombs are within the starting area of Limgrave. Once you beat the troll at the Stormgate, near the Gatefront Site of Grace or Agheel Lake North, you must make your way up the following path. East of Stormhill Shack Site of Grace you'll find a path that heads down toward an encampment, and then past that will be a bridge with a Pumpkin Head. The Deathtouched Catacombs are northwest of this bridge, on top of the hills. There will be a ghost at the entrance to the dungeon.

If you follow the dungeon all the way to the end, just before the lever you'll be in an open space with a skeleton archer above you. You'll notice some loot glowing above you as well - that's the Uchigatana.

To get up there, you must go back to the set of stairs and turn left. There is a tunnel within the wall adjacent to the stairs which will lead you right to the skeleton archers and the Uchigatana.
