Tesla CEO Elon Musk just rolled out the new Cybertruck, which has led to a tidal wave of memes that poke fun at its minimalist "low-polygon" look.

About a year ago, Elon told Kara Swisher that the new Cybertruck was "gonna be like a really futuristic-like cyberpunk, Blade Runner pickup truck." Now that it has arrived, it seems he certainly wasn't kidding.

Although the Cybertruck is Tesla's futuristic take on electric pickup trucks, people couldn't help but notice the vehicle's resemblance to low-poly digital art. The sleek, minimal design of the truck is reminiscent not only of Blade Runner, but also of low-detail models from older generation video games.

Elon's presentation in Los Angeles was quite the show, involving pyrotechnics, flashy lights, sledgehammers, and a surprise new ATV design. The Cybertruck certainly is eye-catching, but not everyone agrees that its unique look is a good thing.

Dr Disrespect made his view clear upon its unveiling, as did multiple others, flooding Reddit with plenty of hilarious commentary-infused memes.

It is clear that Tesla's new design is quite polarizing for fans. The crowd at the unveiling event seemed quite excited and impressed, yet the internet has gone crazy over whether or not the vehicle is a complete disaster.

The new take on electric pickup trucks will have three models – single motor, dual motor, and tri-motor – with 250, 300, and 500-mile ranges, respectively. The truck can fit up to six people and boasts a stainless steel body, as well as "armor glass" windows.

Unfortunately for the windows, however, the glass was broken during the demonstration. In what seemed like an improvisation, Elon had Franz von Holzhausen, the Cybertruck's lead designer, try to break the windows by throwing a metal ball at them. Von Holzhausen must've been a baseball pitcher in his younger years because he awkwardly annihilated the windows.

Production for the angular Cybertruck is expected to begin towards the end of 2021, with starting prices hovering around $40,000 and over $70,000 for a tri-motor model with the self-driving feature included.

Only time will tell how well the Cybertruck fairs when it finally releases to the public. However, either way, a passionate Elon has stated, "I actually don’t know if a lot of people will buy this pickup truck or not, but I don’t care."
