Welcome (back) to the family.

Paradox Interactive and Romero Games have announced the release date for Empire of Sin’s first major expansion, titled Empire of Sin: Make It Count. Announced earlier this year, the premium expansion – which will cost $14.99 – will be released on November 18, 2021, alongside the Precinct update that will be free for all players.

Related: Empire Of Sin: Tips And Tricks For BeginnersEmpire of Sin is the gangland strategy game set in 1920s Chicago that sees you making a name for yourself in the harsh streets of prohibition-era Chicago, muscling out other families, and eventually making the world “yours” by running your many illegal rackets. The Make It Count expansion pack will introduce a new playable boss in Maxim Zelnick; his gang, known as the Fixers (which doubles as a new profession); a new racket in loan sharking; a slew of new missions and missions, along new ways to play the game.

In addition, the free Precinct Update will provide all players with lots of new content and a gameplay patch that “overhauls Empire of Sin from top to bottom.” This will include:

  • Precincts are subdivisions of neighborhoods that are controlled both by players and other factions where players are tasked with securing Supply Lines between connecting precincts to ensure safe (and secret) passage
  • Depots are the central control center for a given precinct, meaning that once you control the Depot, you basically control the Precint. Gaining control of Depots is, of course, much more easily said than done.
  • Buy Out and Chi-Town Mogul provides options for how hostile or diplomatic your takeover of Chicago is.
  • Improved Police gives you a better handle on how you interact (or “deal with”) the boys in blue

The update will also update interiors for Depots and Safehouses, as well as Gun Store, Mob Lawyer, and Boxing Club Improvement Buildings.

In a press release, Brenda Romero, Co-Founder of Romero Games, said that actively working with the community since the game’s release has provided them with ample opportunities for improving and expandin upon the game, which was critically acclaimed when it launched last year.

“Since last year’s launch of Empire of Sin, we’ve all been exploring new ways to expand on the game’s strategic and narrative possibilities,” said Romero. “We’ve spent the last year working on Empire of Sin to integrate the creative ideas of our incredibly active and supportive community, and the one-two punch of both Make It Count and the Precinct Update is going to let players see the game in brand-new ways.”

Empire of Sin: Make It Count will be available for $14.99 alongside the free Precinct update on November 18, 2021, and will launch on Steam, Microsoft Store, Paradox Plaza, PS4, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch.
