In Enlisted, a game from Gaijin Entertainment and Darkflow Software, every soldier has a rank. This rank determines their maximum level, and thus limits the amount of abilities they can have at once.
You can increase a soldier's rank at the Academy. However, the Academy can be quite confusing at first glance.
Here's everything you need to know about the Academy in Enlisted.
How To Unlock The Academy
To unlock the Academy, you need to level up at least three soldiers of the same rank to maximum level. The easiest way to do this is to use rank 1 soldiers. These start at level 0 and their max level is level 1.
It only takes a small amount of XP to get to level 1, so this is by far the fastest way to get the Academy. Unlike similar games like Battlefield, every soldier in Enlisted has their own level.
How The Academy Works
The Academy allows you to send three soldiers of the same rank off to start training. This can only be done when those three soldiers are all at the max level for their rank.
When you first go to the Academy, you may see that many of your soldiers are red and it doesn't let you select them. That's because these soldiers are not at max level yet.
How Long Does Training Take In Enlisted?
When you have three soldiers ready to train, you can select them to send them to the Academy. When you do this, you will not be able to take them into battle until their training is complete.
The amount of time it takes to train soldiers depends on their rank. To train rank 1 soldiers to rank 2, it takes five minutes. However, to train a rank 4 soldier, it will take much longer.
Do You Lose Troops When Training In Enlisted?
When you send three soldiers to the Academy, only one will return. This soldier will be at the next highest rank. The other two soldiers will be lost.
This means to upgrade all of your soldiers to rank 5, you need to buy lots of units at the Logistics shop. This is where you can get more troops using Order Tokens that you get for playing.
When a troop returns, they will have lost any perks and been put back at level 0. To unlock more perks, you need to level them back up again. They will now be able to go one level higher than previously.
Is The Academy Worth Using In Enlisted?
The Academy is valuable as it allows you to spend low ranking troops to unlock better soldiers for your Squads. The fastest way to get new, stronger soldiers is to buy them using Order Tokens in the Logistics shop.
However, if you are unlucky and get lots of rank 2 troops, you can still use these to eventually work toward a rank 5 soldier thanks to the Academy. Just be prepared to do a lot of grinding.
