A leak from last week has seemingly been confirmed now that Epic Game Store is giving away Civilization 6. It seems there are 2 more major free games coming in the next 2 weeks to wrap out the month of giveaways that started with Grand Theft Auto 5.
Last week, EGS gave away GTA5 for free as part of their Weekly Free Games In 2020 plan. At that time, a screenshot leaked on Reddit that showed the next 3 games Epic would be giving away. The leak didn't get a ton of attention until this week when Sid Meier's Civilization 6 was revealed as the next free game, seemingly confirming that the leak was in fact correct.
This Thursday, according to the leak, Borderlands: The Handsome Collection will replace Civilization 6 as the free game of the week. The Handsom Collection includes Borderlands 2, Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel, and all of the corresponding DLC for both games.
The week after, Ark: Survival Evolved will be offered for free. If the leak is accurate, players will be able to add the survival/crafting/dinosaur taming game Ark to their EGS collection.
Epic has given away some fantastic games over the last 5 months but the last 2 weeks, in particular, have been truly remarkable. It looks as if the trend of high profile games will continue for the next t0o weeks. Hopefully, Epic won't run out of steam and we'll be able to get some great free games for the rest of the year.
