Epic Games is conducting a player survey to determine if it will introduce a monthly subscription to Fortnite. Leaked by Twitter user FireMonkey, the survey asks gamers if they would consider a monthly subscription for additional benefits as well as which benefits they would like to see.

The subscription is expected to include the Battle Pass for current in-game seasonal events, early access to the monthly crew pack of free skins, and 1,000 V-Bucks, which can be spent each month on in-game items. Other benefits might include discounts on V-Bucks and other items and a weekly stipend of 1,000 V-Bucks, among other things.

In the survey, players have been asked, “Based on what is presented above, please select what you believe is included in this Fortnite monthly subscription?”

The options given were:

  • Discounts on V-Bucks
  • 1,000 V-Bucks each month
  • An outfit pack that is exclusive to this subscription that includes a character outfit with an additional style, Back Bling and a Pickaxe.
  • 1,000 V-Bucks each week
  • Early access to the next Battle Pass
  • Discounts on Item Shop cosmetics
  • The ability to select and existing Outfit, Back Bling, and Pickaxe from the Item Shop for free.
  • 25 Battle Pass levels
  • An outfit pack that subscribers get first and then will be sold in the shop later that includes a character outfit with an additional style, Back Bling, and a Pickaxe.
  • The current Battle Pass
  • None of the above

It is also expected that players would have access to a new season's battle pass, which is usually released every three months. Estimates for pricing have gone as high as $18.99, however, Eurogamer believes a $5 option might be an option.

Initial responses to the subscription plan have been positive, according to EuroGamer, though some have noted that 1000 V-Bucks, worth an estimated $8 in the US or £6.50 in the UK, is a bit low, considering uncommon shop items cost 800, rare items cost 1200, epic items cost 1500 and legendary items cost 2000.

It seems that Epic has been mulling this idea for some time. Last year, images related to a potential "Annual Pass" were located in the game's files. At the time, Epic said the leak was not something they were considering at the time.

For now, players can enjoy Fortnite's next-gen version, which is live and available on Xbox Series X. So far the game has received glowing reviews. It’s also worth noting that the game's current Marvel-themed season is soon ending, so fans can expect a big live event at the end of this month.
