Epic has not tried to weigh in on any Fall Guys updates since acquiring Mediatonic, according to one of the devs.

Franchise designer Joe Walsh sat down with TheGamer at EGX 2021, and explained how gaining access to Epic's resources has been extremely helpful throughout the game's ongoing development. He also said that Epic's big name in the industry has made bagging big crossovers a lot easier, suggesting that more could be on the way thanks to the acquisition.

"We've been in a really great position where Epic has basically left us alone to make the game. They were interested in acquiring Mediatonic because they loved the games that we make, and they don't want to change the way we make games", Walsh explained.

"But the great thing is that we have access to the firepower of their studio, so if we want to know how Rocket League makes their physics so pixel-perfect we just go and ask them. If we want to know how Fortnite delivers such massive seasons and gets those massive numbers in, we just go and ask them.

"There's just a wealth of resources. Epic has been making games for decades, and we now have all of that which we can tap into. We were just making stuff up as we went along before, but now we actually have experienced people to help kind of guide us in the right direction."

As we previously reported, one crossover that Walsh has his eyes on is Squid Game. Bagging the Netflix super-hit would be one of the biggest wins yet for Fall Guys, but Walsh feels that these ambitious updates are now more likely now with Epic's support behind them.

"Recently we've just done the Jungle Book collaboration, and being able to work with Disney is something that I don't know we would have been able to achieve without Epic's help. That's been really exciting."

The Fall Guys team will be at EGX in London over the weekend. The game is available on PS4 and PC.
