Baldur's Gate 3 is the RPG to end all RPGs (digital RPGs, anyway), peaking at nearly 74,000 concurrent players a couple of days ago. The game is still in the early access phase, but enterprising players have found a "secret" quest that you can go on to secure fame, fortune, and/or infamy. Luckily, even beginners can access this epic quest for Baldur's Gate 3 (although it will still test your courage) by reading the end user license agreement.

The early access of the game is being sold at the full price of $60 and was released on October 6. The game is a sequel to Baldur's Gate 2, which was released a full 20 years ago and is set in the world of the OG RPG, Dungeons and Dragons.

As part of the world of Dungeons and Dragons, it shouldn't be particularly surprising, then, to learn that everything is part of the game, including that EULA that we all so eagerly skip. As pointed out on Reddit, the 5th edition handbooks for Dungeons and Dragons had similar language buried in the voluminous text, releasing Wizards of the Coast from responsibility for angering dragons, splitting up the party, or "saying yes when the DM asks, 'are you really sure?'"

Hidden deep within the language of dark wizards blocking entry to Baldur's Gate 3 is a challenge. A challenge to provide Larian Studios with, "one (1) recording of a chant, song, text, poem or interpretive dance performed by you and extolling your interest in the Forgotten Realms." If you do submit something to the digital DMs at Larian Studios, you give them full permission to use that material on their social media channels—royalty-free, of course.

Upon submission, you will become a founding member of the Guild of Great Genius. What the guild does or what it's responsible for, we aren't sure. You'll have three winters to complete this quest if you choose to embark upon it, after that the quest will expire and you will have forfeit any claim to the guild and the attendant fortune, fame, and/or infamy.

This little detail is a great way to get people interested in your game. Riot Games' VALORANT did something similar a while back by hiding a job application within the code of the game. We expect that Larian Studios will be accepting most, if not all, submissions so if you want to get in on the fun, your chances are pretty good for being inducted into the Guild of Great Geniuses.
