Russian esports tournament organizer EPICENTER will host the fourth Dota 2 Pro Circuit Major of the 2019-20 season. The 16-team event will take place in Moscow, Russia, in May of 2020, offering a $1,000,000 prize pool and 15,000 DPC points. This will be the third Dota Pro Circuit Major hosted by EPICENTER.

Epic Esports Events began hosting tournaments under the EPICENTER name in 2016. Starting with a Dota 2 event in 2016, the organizer quickly grew to include Counter-Strike: Global Offensive tournaments as well. EPICENTER has since hosted three additional Dota events, two of which were classified as Dota Pro Circuit Majors. The most recent EPICENTER event took place in June of this year, as the last Major of the 2018-19 DPC season. Vici Gaming were crowned as the champions, taking home a $350,000 grand prize after narrowly defeating Team Liquid in the best-of-five Grand Final.

Like all Dota Pro Circuit Majors, the 2020 Moscow event will be preceded by a Minor tournament. The Minor will offer its competitors one qualifying spot to the Major, along with a $300,000 prize pool. Details surrounding the fourth Dota Pro Circuit Minor are currently yet to be revealed.

The EPICENTER Moscow Major will see sixteen teams from six different regions compete for the lion’s share of 15,000 DPC points and the $1,000,000 prize pool. The winning team will take home the championship title, along with 4,850 points and the $300,000 first-place prize. The event will follow the Dota Pro Circuit Major format, splitting its sixteen participating teams into four even groups. Each group then plays in a GSL format, the top two teams moving on to the play-offs upper bracket, while the bottom two are placed in the lower bracket. The play-offs will use a standard double elimination format. All games are best-of-threes, save for the first lower bracket round of best-of-ones, and the best-of-five Grand Final.

The next Dota Pro Circuit events will take place early next year. The WePlay! Bukovel Minor is set to kick off on January 9th, while the following DreamLeague Season 13: The Leipzig Major will begin on January 18th. The EPICENTER Major’s announcement reveals the last unnamed Dota Pro Circuit Major for this season. Three Minors are currently unannounced, though details should be revealed as their start date nears closer.
