The last time you met up with Professor Bonilla, you were treated to one of Escape Academy's less brutal, more relaxing puzzles - simply to make a cup of tea. This is not the case today - Tea 'N Tea has you defusing a bomb as it counts down to your doom.

After taking a moment to appreciate the level's punny name, it's important to keep your cool. Losing your head will ensure that the bomb goes off and you lose your, well, everything. And by everything, we mean a Game Over. Let us walk you through the steps required in this level.

Escape Academy Tea N Tea Objective

How To Unlock The Bomb Suitcase

Escape Academy Tea N Tea Bomb Suitcase

As has become a tradition in this game, the first thing you should be looking to do is unlocking everything you can. In this level, this starts with the suitcase in the tent that has the bomb.

There are two vans that you can find around the quad - a Campus Police van and the Bonilla's Bouquets van. While their back doors are locked, you can get into the drivers' seats. In each van, take out the keys - you'll get a Flower Key and a Badge Key. Take them to the suitcase and use them to open the locks.

You'll be presented with the bomb. Looks intimidating, huh? Take a closer look and pick up the Tea Recipe before you leave. As you can see, there are two smaller puzzles within the bomb that you'll need to solve before defusing it. Let's take the only lead we have and find a puzzle that goes with the Tea Recipe.

How To Unlock The Teapot Suitcase

Inside the larger tent off to the side of the level, you'll find a projector and a suitcase with a large teapot on it, locked with a combination lock. Next to it you'll find a note that reads 'One cup of tea.' Check out the Tea Recipe you just picked up - it's a recipe for 'Tea for Three.' Inevitably, you should divide the ingredients by three to come up with the recipe (and thus, the combination lock's code) for a single pot of tea.

If Tea for Three requires three bunches of tea leaves, 12 spoonfuls of milk, and nine cubes of sugar, tea for one only requires one bunch of tea leaves, four spoonfuls of milk, and three cubes of sugar.

The code to the combination lock is 143. Open the case and pick up the items inside: a Door Buster Recipe and a canister of Plasticizer.

How To Unlock The Campus Police Van

Inside the same tent, check out the noticeboard. Pick up the Campus Police Keycard and take it to the Campus Police van - you can use it to open up the back doors.

Inside, pick up the canister of Solvent.

How To Find The Element Of Surprise

Escape Academy Tea N Tea Police Van

With the Police Van opened up, you now have the clue you need for another combination lock puzzle. This time, it's the toolbox on the desk that has blue flowers and a poster with NaNO on it. This is feasibly solved without the game's help, but it makes sense to complete this part of the level now.

Escape Academy Tea N Tea Element Puzzle

Use the Periodic Table of Elements poster inside the Police Van to find the three elements from the poster: Na, N, and O.

  • You'll find Na on the left, underneath the number 11.
  • You'll find N on the right, underneath the number 7.
  • You'll find O next to the N, underneath the number 8.

Putting these elements together, you can work out that the code is 1178. Open the box and take the items within: the Bonilla's Bouquets Keycard and a Russian/English Dictionary. Quickly head to the Bonilla's Bouquets van, open the doors with your new keycard, and take the canister of RDX and the Map of the Quad inside.

How To Open The Truck Doors

Bomb Making Puzzle

With that, we have all the items we need to get into the truck. Examining it reveals that we'll need something less standard to get those doors open, so we're going to make a bomb.

In the back of the Campus Police van, examine the console at the back and insert the three canisters that you've picked up over the course of this level.

Now, pin the Door Buster Recipe to your screen for ease of use. This puzzle involves making sure you have the chemicals balanced correctly to make the bomb. Use the Plus and Minus buttons to alter the percentages to your liking.

  • Since RDX must be greater than 50 percent, set it to 60 to give the other chemicals the most wiggle room.
  • Plasticizer must be greater than 20 percent, so you pretty much have to set it to 30 - otherwise, you wouldn't be able to use any Solvent.
  • Set Solvent to 10 percent, the only amount you can feasibly use.
  • Hit the red button and do as the machine says: Enjoy your bomb!

Head to the truck and set the Door Buster on the back doors. Step back and watch the fireworks!

How To Solve The Russian Puzzle

Escape Academy Tea N Tea Red Flower Russian Puzzle

There is a box in the quad with some Russian words on the top, just above a grid. Now that you have the Russian/English dictionary (from the elements puzzle) and the Map of the Quad (from the back of the Bonilla's Bouquets van) you can solve this puzzle.

You need to hit the right tiles on the grid to open this container. The hint as to which tiles are correct lie in Russian at the top: it translates to 'Three Red Bouquets.'

Using the Map of the Quad, head to every location on the map that has a question mark on it. What we're looking for are the locations of the three red flowers and where their tiles are on the map. The table below will show you what color each flower is:

Head to the container and click the three tiles that are bolded in the table above. The container will open, letting you pick up a VHS Tape and some Clippers. With those items grabbed, we have everything we need to defuse the bomb.

How To Defuse The Bomb

Escape Academy Tea N Tea Radio Puzzle

First of all, you'll need to unlock two compartments inside the bomb itself, one on the left, and one on the right. The compartment on the left is tricky to work out unless you interact with everything you can at all times.

Head to either of the vans and get in the driver's seat. Interact with the radio until you start listening to a song with words - it is actually a code using the phonetic alphabet. Note the lyrics down:

  • Alpha. Up.
  • Bravo. Down.
  • Charlie. Down.
  • Delta. Down.
  • Echo. Up.
  • Foxtrot. Up.

Back at the bomb, you'll notice that you can flip the switches on the left, either up or down. Make sure that only the A, E, and F switches are flipped up, and press the checkmark underneath to reveal some wires. We're not snipping anything yet, don't worry!

Now, to figure out the right puzzle, you'll need to take a close look at what the bomb looks like - the upper half, that is. Note that is has three vertical canisters on the right of a gas can. Go to the back of the van that you blew open and interact with the screens at the back.

Click the remote until the right-hand picture shows a diagram that looks identical to the bomb in the tent, and then make a note of the pattern of lights on the left. Back at the bomb, hit the following buttons to light them up before hitting the checkmark:

Escape Academy Tea N Tea Wire Cutting

With both wire compartments revealed, it's time to figure out which ones you're allowed to cut. Head to the projector from earlier and insert the VHS Tape. Pin the Russian/English dictionary to your screen and note the words that appear on the screen - they are giving you directions on which color wires you're allowed to cut:

Wire Color

Allowed To Cut?

Red

No

Blue

No

Yellow

Yes

Green

Yes

Perfect! Dash back to the bomb and examine the two wire compartments closely. Use the Clippers to snip only the yellow and green wires, and then hit the Disarm button in the center. That's the level!
