TwitchCon 2019 is well underway in San Diego, California, showcasing all the best that Twitch has to offer. Some of the website’s top streamers have come together this weekend to compete in the Twitch Rivals portion of the event.

The League of Legends tournament includes two showmatches, the first of which pitting Europe’s favorite streamers against those of North America. Each region’s representatives were among those who competed in the Road to TwitchCon event earlier this month. The top Twitch partners from Road to TwitchCon qualified for the Rivals tournament.

The showmatch format saw the two teams face off in a best-of-three, with the first two games being Blind Pick. Game one saw the European side take a quick lead, and follow up by closing out the game after just 22 minutes. The second game was no different, as Team EU took another early lead over their NA opponents. The dominance continued as the Europeans secured their second win, again around the 22-minute mark. Team EU took home the $20,000 first place prize. In second place, the North Americans earned themselves $5,000.

The second showmatch of the day saw some of Twitch’s biggest stars face off in another best-of-three. Named the “Rumble on the Rift,” this match pit Team Tyler1 against Team Yassuo. These star-studded lineups feature some of the most recognizable names from Twitch’s League of Legends section. The Rumble on the Rift used the same best-of-three format as the day’s first match, with the first two games being Blind Pick.

Team Yassuo, bolstered by the likes of Trick2g and Pokimane, cruised to an early lead in game one. Team Yassuo’s crushing pace continued as they held a 19-8 kill lead, along with an 11k gold lead, before the 25-minute mark. Despite Team Tyler1’s best efforts to fight back into the game, Team Yassuo closed it out at 27 minutes. The second game told a different story, as Team Tyler1 showed their own prowess and took a dominant victory for themselves. Game three, now in a regular Draft Pick format, was more closely contested. After a 45-minute slugfest, and multiple "back door" attempts, Team Yassuo was able to close out the series. The first place prize of $20,000 was awarded to Team Yassuo, while Team Tyler1 took home the second place $5,000.

The Twitch Rivals portion of TwitchCon featured more than just League of Legends. The weekend’s event has already showcased some of the best streaming talent in both Fortnite and Teamfight Tactics. Sunday’s showmatch will see some of Twitch’s biggest stars face off in a game of Apex Legends.
