Every genius in Evil Genius 2 has a doomsday device that can be used for various things to aid you in your quest for world domination. Which one is best for you is totally dependent on the play style you favor. Those primarily interested in scientific research may grow accustomed to Zalika, for example, who is a science buff herself. And players who want to deliver some carnage will most likely be fans of Red Ivan's device, H.A.V.O.C.
There are only four doomsday devices in the game, but these four are upgradable, and as they upgrade, they will provide you with better results. Trial and error and seeing which path fits you is the first step in finding your strong suit in the game. And with the replayability value, there's plenty of time to try out all of the doomsday devices available to you.
4 V.O.I.D. - Zalika
Zalika's doomsday device can be helpful in some scenarios, but it's easily the least sought-after one compared to the abilities of the others. Using V.O.I.D. reduces the heat in the region, which is a representation of how suspicious people are of you. With high heat, agents will appear at your place more often and will be a lot more determined to uncover the secrets of your base. It also makes goals harder to achieve in general.
Having a high heat rate becomes an inconvenience more than anything, so it can be great for when you need a quick fix to reduce this. And since Zalika is all about science and research, you'll be needing to keep a low profile as much as possible. You'll want to play Evil Genius 2 like an undercover operation and V.O.I.D. lets you do exactly this — with style.
3 H.A.V.O.C. - Red Ivan
When launching, H.A.V.O.C. unleashes atomic fire on the selected target, bringing in heaps of damage that wouldn't be possible otherwise. The damage inflicted even on the lowest strength is grand in comparison to what you're capable of without such a device. The weapon is entirely offensive, so make sure you have the desired target in mind and also remember to keep some fire extinguishers handy, as the doomsday device will set parts of your base on fire after launching.
Fire extinguishers should be placed around your base as a precaution anyway, so you should be fine. But make sure to keep your base as up to code as possible. Even an Evil Genius needs to value their safety, just not so much the safety of anyone else in the game — even those precious minions of yours. The H.A.V.O.C. device is also a reliable tool for quickly taking down enemies, with one downside being it's not exactly the most subtle approach.
2 M.I.D.A.S. - Max
Almost every single item in Evil Genius costs to unlock, and you'll be doing a lot of spending the cash you rack up. Money is an absolute necessity, from weapons that defend your base from any oncoming threats to generators that ensure the lights are kept on. With Max's doomsday device appropriately named 'M.I.D.A.S.,' the stress of achieving this is reduced a little as the machine turns buildings (and occasionally minions) into gold for you to spend.
Preparing for the journey ahead is just as important as attack power, so don't underestimate how handy this little device is, especially when the upgrade you need is just out of your reach. You can even decorate your base with the now golden statues of your minions. Just don't try to place them in your casino; agents aren't exactly fond of the notion of dead bodies being on display. Display them around the private parts of your base to your heart's content, however! Max is the character most players will begin the game with as he is served up for the tutorial section, so his doomsday device is also a solid place to start.
1 V.E.N.O.M. - Emma
Emma is a very secretive character with one thing constantly on her mind; she's not the biggest fan of humanity. This works amazingly in her favor since she gets to boss humans around all day. The function of her doomsday device V.E.N.O.M. is releasing gas that influences people's minds, causing them to violently attack others with no rhyme or reason. The whole situation reeks of chaos, but that's what's so great about it. Because of the strangeness of the device, V.E.N.O.M. is always unpredictable when used.
At the strongest level, people affected by this gas are physically stronger and more aggressive, and there's also the drop in heat you get in your targeted region. Like the other doomsday devices, the effects can also backfire on you, and in this case, V.E.N.O.M. will affect some of the minions in your lair, also causing them to go berserk and attack others. It's a fun tool to use and is effective in more than one way. Let the chaos ensue.
