Evil Geniuses have announced their updated Dota 2 roster for the 2019-20 season. The changes will see Sumail "SumaiL" Hassan and Gustav "s4" Magnusson removed from the lineup. Coming in to replace them will be Abed "Abed" Yusop and Roman "RAMZES666" Kushnarev. SumaiL is still contracted to the organization, while s4 has been released into free agency.

Sumail "SumaiL" Hassan first joined Evil Geniuses in 2015 as a young talent. He quickly proved his skill on Dota 2's biggest stages, becoming one of the game's brightest stars. In 2015, he became the youngest player to win The International, lifting the Aegis at the age of 16. SumaiL has spent the entirety of his professional career on Evil Geniuses, making the team a consistent top contender since his joining. SumaiL is often included in the conversation for the best Dota 2 player of all time. The organization states that he will remain on a contract, and will be "open to transfer talks."

Being removed alongside SumaiL is TI3 winner Gustav "s4" Magnusson. While under the EG banner, s4 helped the team reach a third place finish at The International 2018, along with the Kuala Lumpur, Chongqing, and Disneyland Paris Majors.  Their most recent results saw them exit the EPICENTER Major in 13-16th place, and finish 5-6th at The International 2019. s4 first joined Evil Geniuses in May of last year, leaving OG with captain Tal "fly" Aizik.

Ex-Fnatic star Abed "Abed" Yusop and ex-Virtus.pro carry Roman "RAMZES666" Kushnarev will be filling the Evil Geniuses roster for the 2019-20 Dota Pro Circuit. Abed made a name for himself on Fnatic, accruing respectable finishes at the Chongqing Major and DreamLeague Season 11. Abed was released from Fnatic a few weeks ago, and rumors of him joining Evil Geniuses spread throughout the Dota scene. RAMZES666 built up a formidable reputation on Virtus.pro, most recently winning the Kuala Lumpur Major and earning second and third placings at DreamLeague Season 11 and the EPICENTER Major, respectively. According to EG's announcement, Abed will be taking over the mid-lane while Ramzes will be playing off-lane.

Abed and Ramzes will be joining current EG members Tal "fly" Aizik, Artour "Arteezy" Babaev, and Andreas "Cr1t-" Nielsen. While the EG roster is now finalized, it is currently unclear where SumaiL and s4 will be headed. SumaiL's plans to build a new roster with his brother have been rumored, though nothing is confirmed as of yet. Evil Geniuses will make their first appearance at the first Major qualifier of the upcoming DPC season, which is slated to take place in early October. They will also be competing at the Dota 2 World Pro Invitational Singapore in December.
