Flying Wild Hog and Focus Entertainment have announced that the upcoming cowboy shooter Evil West has been pushed back to November 22 later this year to "ensure the game reaches its full potential."Evil West was initially slated to launch on September 20, but a delay has now been announced via a statement from the official Focus Entertainment Twitter account for more polish to make sure that the game can "provide our players with not only good but also lasting memories." It's also claimed that choosing to release on five different platforms at the same time may be the reason behind the delay, as Evil West is set to release on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X."We are working our very best to achieve our vision of Evil West, and to meet your expectations," reads the statement. "Evil West releases on five platforms, including multiple generations of consoles. Giving our game more polish is crucial to provide our players with not only good but also lasting memories. To ensure that the game reaches its full potential, we have made the decision to delay the worldwide launch of Evil West to November 22, 2022.
In case you missed the initial announcement, Evil West is a third-person, action-adventure game that sees you play as a cowboy vampire hunter attempting to save the Wild West from an army of supernatural beasties. The game is being published by Focus Entertainment and developed by Flying Wild Hog, who may sound a little familiar to some as it recently developed and released Shadow Warrior 3 earlier this year for Devolver Digital.
As for what else Focus Entertainment is publishing this year, the release of A Plague Tale: Requiem is just a couple of months away. The game is set to launch on October 18 for PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X and will see players continue the story of Hugo and Amicia as they attempt to flee from hostile soldiers.
