Xbox might finally be rolling out its cloud gaming service starting with Exoprimal. As noted on the game’s official store page, Exoprimal will be coming to consoles and the cloud, but there’s no mention of Game Pass.Currently, Game Pass Ultimate subscribers are able to stream loads of titles in Xbox’s cloud service beta, but that’s only for games that are already on Game Pass. As noted by Twitter user Klobrille, however, Exoprimal hasn’t been confirmed for Game Pass and its Xbox Store page only lists “console & cloud.”Related: Exoprimal's Dinosaur Storm Made My Jaw DropAs several Twitter users have noted, this could just a game that will soon receive its “day-one with Game Pass” announcement as many coming releases have had in the past. Or it might just be a mistake, and the fact Exoprimal says “cloud” sort of implies it’ll be coming to Game Pass already. Or, it’s possible that Xbox will finally be fully rolling out its cloud streaming service as promised back in 2020.

Just as a reminder, Xbox said that it would allow streaming of owned non-Game Pass titles a little while ago, but then the pandemic happened and delayed a ton of stuff, Project xCloud included. A few years later, Xbox may have finally gotten all the kinks ironed out and is ready for cloud streaming to go live even beyond Game Pass. That’d give Xbox a serious advantage over PlayStation which so far just streams older titles through PlayStation Plus Premium.

And as another reminder, you still need to be a Game Pass subscriber to stream games at all, but it’s nice of Xbox to allow streaming of all titles on its platforms and not just those already on Game Pass. We’ll have to wait and see if Exoprimal is the start of a trend or a one-off exception when it releases later this year.
