Developer Lionhead Studios' acclaimed RPG Fable 3 improved upon its predecessors in many ways. The game, which is only available on Xbox 360 and PC(Windows), features a gorgeous landscape backed by an interesting story. Fable 3 is widely hailed for the interesting ways in which it approached traditional Fable mechanics, namely morphing.

The combat was also overhauled with the addition of many new weapons and classes of weapons. Another distinctive feature when it comes to weapons was that they were randomly placed. This means that no two players would find the same weapon at the same place. Regardless, there are some weapons that are the best in their respective class and are worth having in the inventory.

Fable 3 introduced a much larger story with a greater weight to your decisions and a number of legendary weapons that you'll want to get your hands on.

15 Chickenbane

Named as a reference to one of its augments that involves kicking chickens, this satisfying pistol has a stylish design and impressive stats for its category. As a legendary weapon, the Chickenbane can be somewhat difficult to acquire since drops are random. However, this specific item can be found either by opening the Silver Chest at Bowerstone Castle, which requires 50 keys, or the Treasure Chest in the Sanctuary.

The Chickenbane's three augments are Kicker, Scratcher, and Swashbuckler:

• Kicker is unlocked by kicking 100 chickens and increases Knockback chance by ten percent.
• Scratcher necessitates digging up 30 items and increases damage output by +12.
• Swashbuckler requires completing 30 quests and provides the same benefit as Scratcher.

14 Beadle's Cutlass

In an apparent homage to the Beatles, the Beadle's Cutlass is a masterclass in sword building. The sword, which was hailed as the "greatest weapon ever made" by its creator, has a high damage output and can be found in one of the seven random weapon locations in the game. Beadle's Cutlass also constitutes one of the few legendary swords in Fable 3, and it can drop in seven random locations alongside a string of other rare items.

This sword can be found in silver chests in Millfields, City of Aurora, and Mourningwood, within Mistpeak Valley's Demon Door, or through the Golden Door found in the woods near Sunset House. It can also be a reward for completing the Shot the Difference puzzle or the Mortar and Mourning challenge.

Its augmentations include Dayripper, Killer, and Braggadocio:

• Dayripper is unlocked once 300 enemies are killed while the sun is out. It increases Guild Seals earnings in combat, which are basically Fable 3's experience points.
• Killer requires eliminating 100 targets using flourishes and improves the weapon's damage output by +15.
• Braggadocio is rewarded for finishing 30 quests and grants a 30 percent increase to damage output against humans.

13 Tannar's Glory

This legendary hammer once belonged to one of the greatest ancient Auroran warriors, Tannar. The owner was known to be virtuous and dedicated his entire life to the protection of his people. Due to Fable's random weapon drops, there's no specific location where Tannar's Glory can be located, but it can drop in any of the locations that might reward Beadle's Cutlass.

The hammer's augmentations include Defender, Enforcer, and Holy Fire:

• The Defender is unlocked once 30 enemies near Aurora are killed. This refers to enemies like Sand Furies and Sentinels. Fittingly, this augment increases damage output against these enemies by 30 percent.
• Enforcer is the reward for expanding the jail's inhabitants by ten and it enhances damage by +16.
• Holy Fire adds Flame Damage as a reward for taking out 150 opponents with flourishes.

12 The Black Dragon

The Black Dragon is one of the best-looking and best performing Legendary pistols in Fable 3. The six-shot clockwork pistol is a perfect fit for players who prefer precision and accuracy in combat. To acquire The Black Dragon, you have to earn 450 points at the Mercenary Camp Shooting Range in the Understone DLC.

The pistol's augments are Dragon's Teeth, Dragon's Skin, and Dragon's Eye:

• Dragon Skin requires taking out 200 enemies during the cover of night. Consequently, its reward is a 40 percent damage increase whenever the sun is down.
• Dragon's Eye is unlocked once the player hits a score of 550 at the Mercenary Camp Shooting Range. It increases damage by 13.
• Dragon's Teeth is another augment tied to flourishes, this time requiring 300 hits. It increases Guild Seals earned from battle.

11 Dirty Harriet

The Dirty Harriet is a legendary rifle in Fable 3 that has a huge damage output, even at extreme ranges. The rifle originally belonged to Harriet Thatcher who was the first and only female guard in Bowerstone. In order to acquire it, players will have to score 90,000 points in the Wheel Of Misfortune game. Dirty Harriet can be found in Reaver's Mansion after completing the pre-requisites and downloading the Understone Quests DLC.

The augmentations on this rifle include Inspector, Hitwoman, and Sainthood:

• Sainthood, as its name suggests, is tied to the protagonist's moral standing. This augment improves the rate of Guild Seals.
• Inspector activates once ten criminals are taken to jail, and it increases damage against humans by 30 percent.
• Hit-Woman is rewarded for taking out 150 human opponents using flourishes, and the augment increases damage by 12 hitpoints.

10 The TYPO

This amusingly named hammer is one of the legendary weapons that have a chance to spawn in randomly placed chests around the region. Despite the letters that make up its name, they're actually an acronym for Tactical Personal Offensive Weapon (so it in itself, is a typo) that is designed to dish out damage while looking clean and stylish.

It comes with the augmentations Popular, Chum, and Thwack!

• Popular lives up to its name and earns you more Guild Seals in battle after you get five villagers to love you.
• Chum is more social than Popular and nets you more coins per strike after you befriend 10 to 30 villagers.
• Thwack! is devastating since it requires you to take out 50 to 100 enemies using flourishes so you can earn more Guild Seals.

9 Shardborne

One of the best Legendary Swords in Fable 3, Shardborne can be unlocked by purchasing Fable: The Balverine Order and was also available to players who had pre-ordered the game on Steam. The Shardbone has a dark history and is known to emit pure evil. Players should try and get their sword fully augmented as it increases the sword's base damage from 89 to 109, making it the second most powerful sword in the game.

Available augmentations for this sword include Unholy, Darkness, and Heartless:

• Unholy can be activated by decreasing the hero's moral standing. This augment increases damage against non-evil targets by 30 percent, while also increasing the weapon's base output by +5.
• Darkness requires eliminating 200 enemies at night and enhances the weapon's attack stats by 15.
• Heartless asks the protagonists to drag eight villagers to work and rewards them with money whenever a hit lands.

8 The Sandgoose

Believe it or not, the name 'Sandgoose' has appeared multiple times throughout the series referring to different things. In the first Fable, it was a mythical creature that didn't appear while in Fable 2 it was the name of a Tavern. In Fable 3, it refers to a museum as well as a legendary rifle that you can find in one of two places: The Sanctuary Treasure Chest or the Bowerstone Castle Silver Chest.

The augmentations it comes with are Aggressive, Adventurous, and Popularity.

• The Aggressive augmentation gets you one more gold per hit after you've earned Guild Seals using Evil expressions.
• With Adventurous, you need to complete 20 quests in order to gain 25 extra damage.
• Popularity is pretty straightforward since it needs you to befriend 30 villagers so that you can earn money from attacks.

7 Avo's Lamentation

The entity of Avo has been a staple in Fable's lore since the very first game. With the series revolving around Morality and whether you go towards Good or Evil, Avo acts as the patron deity for the Good Alignment. As a result, he has been known to bestow legendary weapons such as Avo's Lamentation. It has the best chance to appear in either the Ossuary's Golden Door or The Moral View.

It includes the following augmentations: Righteous, Blessed, and Holy Blast.

• To access the Righteous bonus of 20 percent extra damage against Evil enemies, you need to raise your moral standing.
• Similar to Popular, Blessed requires you to get five villagers to love you in order to earn more Guild Seals in battle.
• Holy Blast will add shock damage to your attacks once you slay 150 to 200 Hollow Men.

6 The Tenderiser

The Tenderiser is a hammer that boasts the second-highest base damage in the game. To acquire this hammer, players will have to complete the Dungeon Puzzle in Dark Sanctum but only after it has been fully restored.

The Tenderiser's augmentations are Soul Burner, Fiend, and Tenderise:

• Fiend is activated by the Hero using evil expressions on the NPCs, earning Guild Seals in the process. The augment improves the Guild Seals earned from combat.
• Tenderise demands the protagonist unleashes flourishes on 150 soldiers or villagers, killing them in the process. It enhances the weapon's damage output by 20.
• Soul Burner might just have the cruelest requirement in the entire game, as it involves killing three spouses. As a reward, the player character will lose weight and purity with every attack.

5 Really Sharp Pair Of Scissors

One of the first lessons children learn is not to run with scissors. This makes sense they're sharp and dangerous when handled carelessly. Fable III took this further by introducing the Really Sharp Pair Of Scissors, crafted by the blacksmith Harvey Bindle. It's a legendary weapon that has a chance to spawn in one of the seven different weapon locations around the world.

It has the augmentations of Surgeon, Despot, and Artist.

• To activate Surgeon, you'll need to kill 50 to 80 human enemies with flourishes and you'll get 30 percent bonus damage against humans.
• Despot is similar to Aggressive since you'll need to earn Guild Seals from Evil expressions to earn them faster in combat.
• Artist is heavy as you'll need to kill 150 to 400 human enemies so that you can restore health with each strike.

4 Dragonstomper .48

The Dragonstomper .48 shares its name with six other pistols. To find it, players will need to visit the Sanctuary Treasure Chest and the Silver Chest in Bowerstone Castle's garden. The latter requires 50 silver keys to open which makes this weapon really difficult to acquire.

The augmentations make this Legendary weapon in Fable 3 even better. These are Revolutionist, Dragon's Breath, and Workaholic:

• Revolutionist requires eliminating 40 nobles, rewarding the Hero with more Guild Seals in battle.
• Workaholic unlocks once you accumulate 10,000 gold through jobs. It increases the weapon's base damage by 18.
• Dragon's Breath is another one tied to flourishes, requiring the death of 150 enemies. It adds flame damage.

3 Skorm's Justice

Skorm's Justice is one of the best Legendary Rifles in Fable 3 and can be found at the Salt Mine or The Moral View in Aurora. In extremely rare cases, players may also come across Skorm's Justice in one of the other random weapon locations in Fable 3.

The augmentations powering this weapon are Demon, Callous and unholy Blast:

• Demon demands that the Hero decrease their moral standing, and it rewards them by increasing the weapon's base damage by ten. Hit damage against non-evil targets is also improved by 30 percent.
• Unholy Blast, once again, activates when you kill three spouses. The augment adds shock damage.
• Callous rewards dragging eight villagers to their jobs by enhancing the weapon's damage by ten.

2 The Swinging Sword

A healthy dollop of promiscuous behavior (in-game) is what players will need in order to attain the augmentations of The Swinging Sword. This sword is a relic in Fable 3 and can be acquired only with great difficulty. It can usually be found in the Sanctuary Treasury Chest or the Bowerstone Castle Silver Chest.

The augmentations in the Swinging Sword include Man's Best Friend, Ladykiller, and Swinger:

• Man's Best Friend unlocks once the Hero sleeps with 15 men. It increases Guild Seals earned during combat.
• Ladykiller has the same objective and reward as Man's Best Friend, just with the requirement centering around women.
• Swinger unlocks once the Hero engages in an orgy featuring four other participants. This augment increases the Swinging Sword's base damage by 25.

1 Jack's Hammer

The most powerful weapon in Fable 3 when it comes to raw stats, is Jack's Hammer. Belonging to the infamous Jack of Blades, the hammer can be found in the Auroran Mine or The Moral View in Aurora. Rarely, it can also be acquired in random weapon locations.

Making this weapon even deadlier are its augmentations, which consist of Blademaster, Shade, and Murderer:

• Shade requires killing 400 shadow creatures (Dark Minions, Sentinels, and Shadows). This augment grants a 30 percent damage increase to attacks against Dark Minions and Sentinels.
• Blademaster requires eliminating 50 soldiers or villagers using flourishes. This perk enhances damage to humans by 30 percent.
• Murderer lives up to its name by requiring the murder of 100 soldiers or villagers. This augment increases Jack's Hammer's base damage by 20.
