Playground Games - known for developing Fable and the Forza series - currently has an opening for a new senior scriptwriter (along with a lot of other positions too) to join their Fable team.

"Playground Games is hiring a Scriptwriter for Fable. You should have 'a flair for writing characterful, witty dialogue.' Come laugh with us all day in our fun writing room!" reads a tweet from the studios' lead writer, Anna Megill. Sounds nice alright.

If you think you have what it takes, you can check out the job listing here. The team is also looking for other new members such as an AI Engineer, Cinematic 3D Artist, and a lot of others too. You can browse them all here.

These many job vacancies probably don't come as much of a surprise if you've been keeping up with Fable news lately. Since July last year, we've known that a brand-new Fable game is confirmed to be on its way, which will be the first new addition to the Fable core game series in over a decade. According to its developers, the new game - simply entitled 'Fable' - will apparently serve as "a new beginning for the legendary franchise."

Fable's announcement last year came with a gorgeous cinematic trailer that also revealed plans to bring the game exclusively to Xbox Series X and the Xbox Game Pass. Unfortunately, though, Playground Games has since been rather tight-lipped regarding further details around Fable.

Even more unfortunately, it is said that we could be waiting quite a long time yet before Fable sees the light of day. According to Christopher Dring from GamesIndustry, "Xbox has a lot of amazing studios and these games are coming but, I've had few conversations with friends at Xbox Games Studios and those games they announced, Everwild, Perfect Dark, Fable are so far away."

We do also know that Fable's game engine is getting built from the ground up, so it's expected that we're in for a long wait still. At least we can take comfort in that Playground Games has no doubt already hit the ground running with this new project.
