Fall Guys has already fallen victim to the clone, with a copycat mobile version becoming available less than a day removed from the original game's release. The title went live for both the PlayStation 4 and PC on Tuesday on the back of some anticipation - we totally get why; it's just so cute (and silly).

Anyhoo, a game going by the name of Fall Gang: KnockOut has popped up in the iOS App Store and appears to be a complete mimic of Mediatonic's August launch - the developers hardly made a secret of it. Unfortunately, or fortunately, the reviews aren't that great.

The Fall Guys official Twitter account has also taken a swipe. "Look how they massacred my boy," they wrote on Monday night along with pics of the copycat, which has admittedly done well to draw a few players in, before most of them complained.

Fall Gang has a current rating of 2.1 out of 5 stars, with users lamenting over incessant ads, poor controls, and simply that it's a knockoff.

"One of the worst games to ever be developed," one player said in their review. "First of all they only give you enough coins for one game, after that you have to watch ads to even play another. Second is that if you get knocked down or even touched there’s no way of getting back up so you automatically lose because apparently it was too hard to add a jump button. One of the worst knockoffs ever."

Fall Guys has attracted its own complaints, though. But it's pretty much the run-of-the-mill server talk. While the devs anticipated they would have lots of people flooding in to play, perhaps they did not expect 1.5 million users on the first day and servers understandably took a beating.

The new title is available for $19.99 from Steam or the PlayStation Store but is actually free for PS Plus subscribers this month. As a brief description, Fall Guys is a huge multiplayer hosting up to 60 players vying to be the last man standing in a wacky, chaotic, free-for-all setting.

As for the clone, it was pretty fast in getting there but such is the struggle with modern gaming. Copycats will find their way to gamers, mostly via mobile, and possibly put a dent in the pockets of developers and publishers - if they're any good. We don't imagine Fall Gang is going to do that...
