Found yourself binging Squid Game lately and thought to yourself, "man, I reckon I could do this if it was Fall Guys". Nope? Well, that doesn't matter - the two game show based pieces of entertainment could get a crossover somewhere down the line, with one of the devs saying it would be a "dream" to get some costumes from the hit Netflix show in the game.

TheGamer caught up with Joe Walsh, franchise designer at Mediatonic, who is demoing the game at EGX 2021 for the first time since its launch. He says if he could pick any crossover to put in Fall Guys for the next update, it would be Squid Game.

"It would be my dream is if we could get Squid Game into Fall Guys. That would be the ultimate collaboration.'" he said. "[Both of us] draw inspiration from Takeshi's Castle obviously. And some of the costumes in that show look so perfect if we could get the hooded, black-masked characters into Fall Guys. I think if I could pick anything to have in the game tomorrow, it would be that".

After hitting Netflix September 17, Squid Game has fast become one of the most talked-about shows on the service. In fact, it's become so popular that a South Korean internet provider is suing Netflix for the increased maintenance work required to accommodate so many people watching it at once. That momentum shows no sign of slowing down, at least judging by the conversation online, so that Fall Guys and Squid Game crossover could be a great move for the game.

Elsewhere in our EGX shenanigans, and perhaps fitting for the dev's Squid Game love, we also came across an actual Fall Mountain that Mediatonic and Virgin Media have set up at the event. This irl Fall Guys experience has you run up a sloped treadmill to collect crowns, seeing how many you can get in the space of two minutes (note: we got four).
