If you know anything about the Fallout 4 fanbase, you’ll know right away that they literally will scour any game in the franchise. They’re a group of die hard fans that hold this game in such high regard. Fallout 4 deserves that kind of love, though: it’s one of the most innovative games to date on the market. Even though it’s been a while since its release, people are still heavily involved in the game as a whole.

Since so much time has gone by, it’s only right that some secret easter eggs have been revealed! We’ve collected some of the least known easter eggs from Fallout 4 all in one place so you can make a checklist out of each of the locations and items we mention below.

There's lots here, from exploring minigames on the Pip-Boy to discovering Skyrim easter eggs all throughout the Fallout world. Plus, the strange amount of Blade Runner references! We’ve gathered them all up so you can discover a whole new perspective of the Fallout 4 world. Maybe this will even encourage you to pick up the game again if you’ve gotten bored with it over the last year.

We want to hear from you too! Let us know what easter eggs you’ve found in Fallout 4! Were there any easter eggs on this list that you knew about and have actually found? Or did you discover some brand new easter eggs you had no idea about? Though we've tried to include as many as possible here, there's just so much to see in this game.

15 Watch Out For The Red Menace

Via Fallout Wikia

Surprisingly, many players don’t even know about this easter egg. In the game there’s actually a way to play a version of Donkey Kong on your Pip-Boy! The version of this game is known as Red Menace, which is a sort of tribute of this classic game. You have to search the entire map to find holotapes so you can play these games. Yes, we said games. There are actually more games you can acquire through holotapes as well. If you want to have a blast to the past, and if you grew up loving classic platformer games like this, you’re in the right place. What games have you accidentally found to play on your Pip-Boy? We personally wish that Bethesda would make these mini-games part of an app. We don’t know about you, but we’d be playing them all day!

14 Watch Out For The Monster At Carhenge

Via Wccftech

Yes, you can actually visit Stonehenge in game! It’s completely made out of cars. It’s no wonder that the developers added one of the most iconic locations on earth. If you aren’t aware that this location is actually in the game, you might end up walking right past it. It's somewhat hard to miss and could easily be mistaken for rubble. Rather than massive stones that take your breath away, this location features massive cars all stacked on top of each other. You can actually find this location very early on in the game, right below Sanctuary on your map. Do you think you’ve stumbled upon this in past playthroughs without realizing what it actually is?

13 There’s Nirnroot In Fallout?

Via Commonsensegamer

We don’t want to completely spoil the ending, but if you don’t want to know more about what you find at the end of the game, then turn away!

Towards the end of the game you actually find a research station, but besides the main quest, you’ll find something interesting. You’ll actually find a plant that people have been researching, an experimental plant. But this plant might look familiar, because it’s Nirnroot! The actual name isn’t mentioned but you should recognize this name from the other hit Bethesda game series, The Elder Scrolls! If you take the time to look through the terminal by the plants, you’ll be able to find some obvious clues that prove that this is in fact Nirnroot. This has led some game theorists to come up with the idea that both of these series take place in the same universe.

12 A UFO Crash

Via YouTube

Just like an any Bethesda game, there are hidden events that you can trigger if you have the right items and if you’re in the right location. You have to get everything perfect if you want to possibly trigger this out of this world event! It's random, so there's no knowing when it'll happen. But not only will you get to witness the event, but you’ll also get to add an alien blaster pistol to your weapon collection as well. This alien blaster pistol is actually quite powerful. Honestly, this blaster pistol is ideal if you want to roleplay as a character from space, or some other crazy scenario you can think of!

11 A Secret War Submarine

Via Steam Powered

There's actually a secret war submarine if you dare go in radiated waters! There are countless guides to search for if you want the exact location. This insane secret is somewhere no one would ever think to look: the water! If you’ve played this game for any amount of time you’ll know you never set foot in the water unless you want your character to die. Usually there is no reason to ever go in the water anyway. If you find the submarine there’s actually a quest to do there. It’s so much fun and very different compared to all of the other side quests in the game. We suggest you pull out those swimming trunks and go find this beast. It’ll be worth it!

10 Diamond City Celebrates Christmas

Via Youtube

Just like in all Bethesda games, there is a time system in place for each universe. Because of this, the date will obviously change in Fallout, meaning that at some random point Diamond City will actually go all out and decorate for Christmas. This has been tested and it seems like it’s only one specific day per year just like in real life, so if you’re unlucky and miss it, you’re going to be very upset! The way that the citizens celebrate this event is by decorating the city with multicolored Christmas lights and even Christmas trees! If you’re feeling in the festive spirit, head over to Diamond City and celebrate Christmas with all the amazing NPCs there! You might even find some secret dialog as well that will make the immersion that much better.

9 You Can Even Visit Walden Pond

Via YouTube

This trash filled area might not seem like a nice relaxing place to write a novel, but it is quite an important spot in the game if you know what you’re looking at. Since this game supposedly takes place in Massachusetts, it’s safe to say that this pond is an ode to Walden pond, the place where the famous writer Henry David Thoreau ran away to to write his novels and manifesto. There’s also a gift shop at this location as well with tons of traps, so be careful. You actually will have to crawl through the drainage ditch to get inside. Beware, because there will be some raiders camping out in there. If you take a moment to listen, they will actually be having a conversation about the famed writer!

8 Blade Runner References Galore

via: techtimes.com

Have you ever wondered why there is a Japanese Noodle Bot serving noodles in Diamond City? It does seem pretty random if you take a moment to think about it. But there actually happens to be a reason. Have you ever wondered why there are certain spots around the whole map that seem to be illustration some kind of story, whether it’s a dead body posed a certain way or a collection of items, even though no quest leads here? You can pretty much sum up the meaning of all of it because of Blade Runner. Apparently Bethesda has some major fans of it working for them! In the film there is a character played by Harrison Ford. His character always loves a bowl of noodles served by a guy who will only speak Japanese to him. The reference is flawless.

7 The Famous Red Seat

Via Gamespot

In section 42, row 37, and seat 21 in Diamond City you can find Ted Williams' seat, if you’re lucky enough. This is a tribute to one of the best baseball players in the history of the sport. The red seat in real life is a tribute to his life, love, and dedication to the sport in Fenway Park. He had a 19 year run playing Major League Baseball. He played mainly for the Boston Red Sox. Many people who are interested in sports and specifically interested in baseball probably know his name because of how much he changed the history of the sport. It might take some time to find in Diamond City, but it’s there, trust us! Take a moment to to look for it.

“A man has to have goals — for a day, for a lifetime — and that was mine, to have people say, "There goes Ted Williams, the greatest hitter who ever lived." -Ted Williams

6 Nostromo’s Ship From Alien

Via Nexus

Speaking of tributes, there is another great tribute to the Alien movie! If you love the series, you really need to go out of your way to find this very unique item in the game. It might seem like a regular piece of junk lying around, but if you look close enough you’ll see that the flux sensor actually has a number on the back of it. This number happens to be the actual ID for the ship in the movies. The ship was known as the Nostromo. This little reference is quite simple and is only meant to be a bit of a throwback to a classic movie. There isn’t much use to the item. It’s simply just cool to have! Some have speculated that this flux sensor is randomized in different chests. People have found it in different locations, so keep an eye out for any random chests!

5 Detective Nick Valentine Isn’t Who You Think

via: youtube.com

There’s a chance that the Mysterious Stranger that has appeared in most of the games in this series, is actually Detective Nick Valentine. Many people came to this conclusion because it almost seemed like Bethesda didn’t ever plan on telling us who the stranger was. It seems likely. If you have the Mysterious Stranger perk while also using Detective Nick Valentine as a companion, you’ll notice that it unlocks some new dialogue with Nick. He will actually make comments about what the stranger is wearing and even will crack some jokes. You might even stumble upon Nick Valentine's case file on the Stranger. It’s quite funny! Do you think these two people are actually the same person? We would have to say yes!

4 It's A Bit Barbaric

via: twitter.com

You’ve probably stumbled across various magazines and comics in the game universe of Fallout 4. But did you know that Grognak The Barbarian comics are actually inspired by Conan The Barbarian? You can even dress up as the heroes in the comics if you find the headquarters of the comics. You can dress up as many characters in the comic book series, but if you notice, when you put on Grognak's costume it will actually increase your melee damage, and you can wear it as armor, unlike the other costumes laying around. Also if you keep a lookout at the Hubris Comics headquarters, on the very top floor on a shelf you can actually find Grognak’s axe! It’s in a locked case so you'd better come prepared. Will you be basing a character roleplay on this equipment?

3 The Vault-Tec Rep Never Goes Away

Via YouTube

You know the Vault-Tec Rep at the start of the game. He comes to your house as you’re trying to take care of your baby and have a great morning with your husband or wife. This guy comes striding up to your home and completely refuses to leave without you agreeing to a space in the Vault just down the street. Then with perfect timing, after you agree to a space in the vault, the news changes and you head the bombs drop. You and your partner grab your child and run to the vault. You make it past the checkpoint gate ad you’re cleared to enter, but you notice that the Vault-Tec Rep is left out of the gate. They won’t let him enter and he’s left there stranded. You assume that that’s the last you’ll see of him, but you actually can find him later on in the game, turned into a ghoul!

2 Kremvh’s Tooth, The Most Unique Dagger

via fallout.wikia.com

In the northeast of the map, you’ll find a place called Dunwich Borers. It’s a creepy place you probably would never want to visit even in a game. There is a huge mine with tons of raiders and other creepy creatures. We don’t want to spoil anything, but as soon as you go in the cave you’ll know. Because raiders will be the least of your worries! Anyway, in this long mineshaft, you’ll find a unique area that will remind you of past games. You’ll also find one of the most unique daggers in the game. So even if this place gives you the creeps, push through because you’ll be rewarded with one of the coolest weapons in the game, especially if you’re a stealth character.

1 The Ultimate G.O.A.T. Is Back

Via YouTube

If you’re a die-hard fan like us, you probably miss the G.O.A.T. test. But it actually makes an appearance in Fallout 4! You probably won’t be surprised that the test also makes a reference to the Voight-Kampff test from the the film Blade Runner. This test's purpose for this game actually has to do with the synths. They're known as bad people, even though they inherently aren’t. The town Covenant wants to keep out synths. You’re put to the test to make sure that you aren’t a synth yourself. Be careful though when you choose! You won’t be able to enter the town if you don’t pass the test. Unless you simply reload your save!
