There are lots of wacky characters in Fallout 4 and the Fallout universe in general, and this list will feature a bunch of them. Although there are lots of serious enemies and characters within the game, there are lots that are just downright weird and hilarious for the player to encounter during their adventures in the Commonwealth.

This list will go over just a few of them and explain how they are very peculiar and not especially sane.  From a zombified kid to a super mutant companion here are ten characters from side quests in Fallout 4 that were just too much for players to handle!

10 Ironsides

There are no short supply robots in Fallout however this one takes the cake for being the absolute weirdest. It makes a lot of peculiar comments and has a very unique look to it which is why earns a spot on this list.

Players that encounter it are confused as to how it became so intelligent and although its dialog is funny it's definitely a sophisticated robot. Hopefully more robots like this one appear in future games because it was a treat to talk to.

9 Curie

This NPC also happens to be a follower and when the player first encounters her she is a robot. The player can then turn her into a synth which effectively gives her a human body to live in.

This is one of the fan-favorite followers in the game because of her interesting dialog and dedication to the player. She can even be romanced which is quite interesting for a robot person and is just another reason that she's very weird.

8 Mayor McDonough

This mayor is anything but righteous. He has shown that he doesn't care about his people at all because he is not the real mayor. All this guy is an institute spy that controls from the shadows.

There is a quest in the game that allows the player to kill this mayor and most players decided to do it because he is a lying man with an agenda. Overall the Mayor is an interesting character but the fact that he ended up being a synth was very weird.

7 Jack Cabot

Jack is one of the most interesting characters in the game but with a great backstory and some weird things about his past. His family is all kinds of messed up because of the way they run things and he is actually over 200 years old.

He is hundreds of years old because his family are scientists and they have figured out a way to live forever. This is a great character with lots of personality and any player that doesn't come across him should seek him out.

6 Doc Crocker

This doctor doesn't have a medical degree. This plastic surgeon can operate on the player changing their appearance completely or just in slight ways, whichever they desire.

There's a quest revolving around Doc Crocker where players learn that he is actually a psychotic murderer and it is a very fun quest to complete. Going from being a plastic surgeon to murder is quite the leap and fans were surprised and creeped out that it was a case. Don't let this doctor near the Sole Survivor's face!

5 Kent Connolly

Kent has an obsession with the Silver Shroud superhero from before the war. The player can encounter him and complete tasks in a superhero outfit and it's one of the most well-regarded quests in the entire game.

His personality doesn't leave anything to be desired because there is a ton of it and players loved getting to meet this ghoul.  He probably won't come back in any future games however because he is a ghoul it is definitely a possibility.

4 Captain Zao

This submarine captain is very interesting however he doesn't speak much English so it makes it difficult to communicate with him for the most part. Some players just decide to kill this guy because he worked for the Chinese army and helped bomb the United States.

This guy was just serving his country and although he may have contributed to the war its hundreds of years later so maybe the player should let bygones be bygones. This irradiated human has a lot of personality even though he can't speak the player's native language and it was interesting to meet a Chinese officer that was active in the Great War.

3 Billy Peabody

This is without a doubt one of the weirdest characters in the entire game. When the player 1st meets Billy he is stuck in a fridge and needs a player's help getting out.

He has actually been in there for over 200 years ever since the great war. This irradiated child can be sold to a slaver or taken back home to his parents and the quest is one of the most well-written ones in the entirety of the Fallout universe.

2 Strong

This character can be encounter during a side quest where players have to free a man from a skyscraper. When fans eventually encounter this super mutant he can be recruited as their companion and boy does he have a lot of interesting things to say.

It was surprising to see another non-hostile super mutant after all the ones that were in New Vegas. Hopefully Strong will come back in the future because super mutants can live for a long time however it's not especially likely because the next Fallout game will probably be far away from Boston.

1 Lorenzo Cabot

Lorenzo is Jack Cabot's father and he is an even more wacky character with lots of interesting dialog for the player to hear. He's got a great back story and his son locked him in the room that the player encounters him in because of the artifact on his head.

He offers the player eternal life for setting him free which is a pretty good bargain for players that don't want their characters to eventually die. This is one of the weirdest characters in the game and deserves the top spot on this list without a doubt!
