The Commonwealth in Fallout 4 is a very big place filled with secret spots to visit. One such location is called Spectacle Island, which is so well-hidden that you could realistically put 100 hours into the game without ever coming across the area.

It's a shame, too, because the Island's secrecy isn't the only special thing about it. The place can also serve as a large and remote settlement. Therefore, finding this Island is definitely worth your time. And not only does this guide help you locate it, but it also explains how to turn it into a settlement.

How To Find And Reach Spectacle Island

The Island is in the southeastern part of the map, not far from The Castle or Wilson Atomatoys Factory. Once you're in the correct area, there's only one way to reach the place - you need to cross the water.

You can either swim over there or use your Power Armor to walk across the ocean floor. The former option is arguably the easier one, but you will take in some radiation, so have some Rad Away ready.

How To Transform The Island Into A Settlement

While on the Island, you'll probably notice that the place isn't a settlement straight away. To make it one, you need to turn on the power while watching out for all of the hostile creatures that inhabit the area.

Visit The Shack

In the middle of the Island is a shack that contains a workbench. Because of a potential glitch, you should visit this shack before turning on the power, even though you can't do anything here yet.

So, go to the place and interact with the currently inoperable workbench solely to avoid the bug.

Activate First Circuit Breaker

To find the first breaker, head to the southeast corner of the Island. At the spot, you'll see a half-sunken ship. Go inside the vessel to find a circuit breaker that you need to activate. Now before you do it, make sure you've got some of Fallout 4's greatest weapons equipped - or, at least, the best you own - as you're about to be in for a fight.

Survive Ambush

After you activate the circuit breaker, several enemies will spawn and they intend to kill you. The main adversary is a Mirelurk Queen. If you haven't seen one of these creatures before, they're large and intimidating.

This is a winnable fight, though, if you've got decent equipment. Just make sure you aim for the monster's skin instead of her shell and watch out for her ranged acid attack. The rest of her allies are easy enough to take down. You can also run away if you want, but their presence may interfere with setting up your settlement.

Activate Second Circuit Breaker

The second and last circuit breaker you need to activate is back at the shack you visited earlier. If you've forgotten where the place is, you can follow the powerlines from the boat to find it. The breaker is at the back of the metal shack. Simply flick it on, and you will have one of the best settlements in Fallout 4.

At this point, there will be no people, but you can go to your other settlements and tell residents to move to the Island.
