Fallout 76 and Fallout 4 are just two of the installments of the post-apocalyptic franchise. They're the two most recent in the series and players are somewhat divided on whether or not they can be compared to each other because of all the differences between them. However, there are still a lot of improvements that are made in 76 to help players on their journey in the wasteland.
This list will go over a bunch of the best improvements that 76 added to the franchise and show players that there actually are a bunch of things that are better about the multiplayer game than the single-player one. 10 The Weapon Selection Is Much Larger
Fallout 4 has a large selection of weapons but it pales in comparison to Fallout 76. The new game has a plethora of new weapons for players to use to kill mutants in the wasteland.
It is great to see a bunch of new weapons added to the fallout franchise and players were ecstatic to be able to destroy their favorite mutants with a host of powerful new weapons. Hopefully, even more new weapons will be added into the game in the future.
9 The Map Is Bigger And Full Of Beautiful Structures
Fallout 76 has a map that is four times the size than Fallout 4. It's great to see a map that is so much larger because although the old game was fun, it wasn't especially big in terms of map size.
The new map is also full of lots of beautiful and amazing structures to see and players enjoyed exploring everything that those structures had to offer. Overall the map was much better and all though some of the locations don't have NPCs like they would in Fallout 4 they are still extremely fun to explore.
8 The Mutants Are Much More Terrifying
The mutants in Fallout 76 are so much more terrifying than in the fourth game. The reason for this is because the developers decided to add more folklore creatures into the mix that players could kill for loot.
Actual monsters such as the Wendigo have been added to the wasteland to create a more horrifying atmosphere that feels like the players actually in a post-apocalyptic world. Hopefully, more creatures like these are added in the future because they are a treat to fight.
7 The Graphics Are Slightly Improved
Although the graphics aren't improved to a large extent they have been slightly upgraded, at least for players that can handle the entirety of the world in 76. Even slight graphical enhancements are beneficial and players enjoy when developers decide to put them into the game.
This is worth noting because every player likes having better graphics and although it's only slightly noticeable in 76 it's still great to see an improvement over the 2015 RPGs graphics. T developers will surely add more graphical enhancements as time goes on and players are looking forward to those!
6 There Is More Content In The Post Game
There is much more content in the post-game in Fallout 76 than there was in Fallout 4. It's not especially surprising because the game is online so there has to be some sense of adventuring on forever however it's still much more enjoyable than Fallout 4's tiny post-game.
This was definitely something that players enjoyed having in the new online game and it was especially fun to be able to complete new challenges and events with friends. There will surely be more post-game added to 76 in the future and it's another feature that players are excited for.
5 Players Can Play With Their Friends
Fallout 76 was marketed as the online Fallout game and it was one of the best features to be added in the new installment. Fans had been asking for multiplayer for years and the developers finally delivered on that idea.
Even though some fans disliked the idea of multiplayer for the franchise, there were also a bunch of fans that were excited about it. The multiplayer had a rough launch however it has since improved and runs pretty smoothly.
4 Players Can Edit Their Character Whenever They Want
Instead of having to go to a surgeon or a Barbershop, players can actually just change their appearance by themselves in 76. This is worth a spot on this list because being able that change the character's appearance easily is one of the best features that they added with the new game.
Not having to go to a surgeon is a major upgrade and although it doesn't make much sense lore-wise because it's an online game players gave it a pass. This is a little quality of life feature and hopefully there will be more of them added in the future.
3 The Settlement System Has Been Upgraded
The settlement system in Fallout 4 was somewhat divisive, however, in 76 everyone seems to enjoy settlement building to some extent. The new camp system is one of the most important new features of the game and players couldn't get enough of building their own little slice of heaven that their friends could visit.
There are now more settlement items in the game and more features to use and this was something that made creative builders extremely happy. More camp upgrades will surely be brought to the game in the future and fans are definitely looking forward to a bunch of those little updates to the feature.
2 There Is A Bunch Of New Armor And Apparel To Wear
Fallout 76 has a bunch of new armor and apparel that players are able to wear when fighting the mutants of the wasteland. Fallout 4 also a large selection of these, however, it's nowhere as large as 76 and it's amazing how many new outfits the developers managed to add to the game.
Unfortunately, some of the new outfits are locked behind a paywall but at least there are also a bunch of new free ones that players can find and where. Players are gonna need to wear these if they want to survive against the wicked creatures of the wastes so this was an update that a lot of players really appreciated.
1 The Game Is Getting Free DLC
Fallout 4 was a great game and it had a bunch of different expansions that that players buy. However, with Fallout 76 the developers are realeasing free updates that will expand the game and bring new content to it every couple of months.
This is much better than having to pay for the DLC and players were ecstatic when it was announced that they wouldn't have to buy it. Hopefully, more developers go this way in the future because it is quite annoying to buy a $60 game and then have to spend another $40 making the game feel complete. This is another area where 76 shines!
