You may have come from the underground, but the Mole Miners in Fallout 76 have made the old mineshafts of Appalachia their domain. While it might have saved them from the initial nuclear destruction that befell the world, over time they have become aggressive mutant versions of their former selves, and a target for your daily challenges.

Unlike other types of mutants and creatures in Fallout 76, these foes have some form of societal structure, with groups led around by leaders and supervisors. If you're on the hunt for some Mole Miners, here's their location and loot drops to check this mission off with ease.

Updated April 12, 2023, by Sean Murray: Them Mole Miners are still a nuisance, but they also have good loot. That's why we've updated this guide with a few tips on where to find Mole Miners in Fallout 76.

Mole Miner Location And Loot Drops In Fallout 76

Fallout 76 Mole Miner

Despite sounding like a difficult to pin down enemy, Mole Miners are actually found in quite a few locations around the map of Fallout 76. In fact, there are 17 total locations where Mole Miners are present—most of which are in the Ash Heap and Savage Divide regions.

Also, if you're looking for an easy kill, don't bother heading to The Rust Pick and trying to kill the Mole Miner merchant there. That one doesn't count.

As mentioned earlier, Mole Miners tend to travel in groups, which is good if you're looking to wipe out a bunch in one trip but could also be dangerous depending on what types you run into.

Obviously, most of these areas are, or at least are near, underground sections. This is where you'll want to go hunting.

If you're looking for Mole Miner Pails, they only drop from Treasure Hunter variants—passive Mole Miners that periodically roam Appalachia.

Treasure Hunter Pail Farm

Fallout 76 Treasure Hunter

Treasure Hunters are only available during the "Hunt for the Treasure Hunter" community event that periodically runs throughout the year. You'll want to maximize your time farming these enemies since the event only lasts for a few days whenever it's up.

Whenever this event is up, consider looking at the following locations:

  • Whitespring Golf Club: One of the most popular farming spots, this zone seems to have a fairly high spawn rate for Treasure Hunters. If quite a few players are already here, farm elsewhere.
  • Lewisburg: This town spawns 1-3 Treasure Hunters consistently.
  • Welch: Same as Lewisburg, and both towns are both in Ash Heap.
  • Clarksburg: Running through this town doesn't take long and typically spawns one Treasure Hunter.
  • Morgantown Airport: Multiple spawn locations for the Treasure Hunters are at this location, most of which are fairly close to each other.
  • Grafton Steel: Yet another location with a high chance of spawning Treasure Hunters.

If you aren't a fan of constantly fast-traveling, farm laps around Ash Heap. Most major locations in Ash Heap have a chance of spawning at least one Treasure Hunter. Run through each major location and town as you're looping around the region for a good chance of finding a few Treasure Hunters each run.
