Pretty much anyone who's a fan of the later non-isometric styled games in the Fallout franchise pretty much worships Obsidian, the developers behind Fallout: New Vegas and the wildly popular more recent release, The Outer Worlds.

The game is known for being a lot weirder than most of its predecessors in various ways, including locations, characters, questlines, and weapons, essentially making it one of the most well-loved games in modern history by players who are in the know. Here, we'll be looking at some of the most deadly weapons in the game, and a few that are absolutely too silly not to be included in any whimsical players arsenal.

10 Deadly: Gauss Rifle

The Gauss Rifle might be pretty silly, but that doesn't mean it isn't equally if not more deadly. The gun is made out of a literal particle collider, which then harnesses the energy that the subatomic process releases, directed at the enemy. One version of the gun, which can be found in most of the DLC, fires at a fully-automatic rate and does 20,160 damage per second.

9 Silly: Survivalist Rifle

New Vegas Survivalist Rifle

The Survivalist Rifle actually does a ridiculous amount of damage provided it actually hits its target, between the insane recoil and the terrible accuracy. The coolest thing about this weapon isn't exactly the immense damage that it does but the story behind it. A man who was part of a war in the past, carried it with him for most of his life, which is why it's so insanely battered.

8 Deadly: Grenade Rifle

New Vegas Grenade Rifle

The Grenade Rifle is one of the most deadly weapons for pretty obvious reasons.

Instead of switching out really quick for a fast frag grenade throw and then back to the player's primary weapon, the Grenade Rifle is probably one of the best explosives weapons due to the fact that ammo is easy to find, it does a ton of damage, and it's fairly durable. It's also one of the most accessible explosives weapons.

7 Silly: Holy Frag Grenade

New Vegas Holy Frag Grenade

The Holy Frag Grenade is a direct reference to a glorious item from Monty Python And The Holy Grail, an oft-referenced comedy classic. The weapon in the movie is called the Holy Hand Grenade, which is used to dispatch an unassuming but deadly rabbit. The weapon itself is physically undifferentiated from a normal frag grenade, other than a large white cross painted on the side, and how ridiculously hard to find it is.

6 Deadly: Riot Shotgun

Fallout New Vegas Riot Shotgun

Shotguns are a staple of any shooter, pretty much being indispensable when it comes to close-ranged combat, especially if your player isn't specced particularly well into melee weapons. The Riot Shotgun absolutely shreds enemies thanks to the high capacity, the high rate of fire, and the sheer damage it does. A weapon that can be used quickly like this is immensely rare amongst video game shotguns.

5 Silly: Figaro

Fallout New Vegas Figaro

Figaro is a beautiful weapon, even though it's technically just a very specific reskin of a straight razor, which is a pretty common melee weapon in the game.

The name of the weapon is a reference to a song from the opera "The Barber Of Seville", which is pretty commonly referenced in fiction in comparison to how many people have actually seen it. It also makes a great addition to an in-game Sweeney Todd cosplay.

4 Deadly: Euclid's C-Finder

Fallout New Vegas Euclid's C-Finder

Euclid's C-Finder is pretty much straight out of a classic sci-fi film from the 50s or 60s, and it's just as out there as any of those weapons too. The C-Finder is linked to a laser weapon placed on a satellite orbiting the earth. When the C-Finder is activated on a target, it rains down a huge beam that's been described in the game as "A column of heavenly light coming out of the sky."

3 Silly: Nuka Breaker

Fallout New Vegas Nuka Breaker

The Nuka Breaker is actually a pretty decent weapon, even though it's obviously just a Nuka-Cola sign slapped onto a piece of rebar by some industrious wastelander. The weapon is essentially a reskin of the Rebar Club, but it does some serious damage.

It's still partially functioning, being emblazoned with the word "Nuka" in neon. The weapon also has some exposed live-wires that deal tons of bonus electrical damage when they contact the target during a critical hit.

2 Deadly: Anti-Material Rifle

Fallout New Vegas Anti Material Rifle

The Anti-Material Rifle is an absolute force to be reckoned with. The weapon appears at first to be a standard sniper rifle, that is until one uses it. It has a few drawbacks that some players argue make it unusable, but it does insane damage. Its ammo is incredibly heavy, the weapon itself is incredibly heavy, and it has an extremely slow rate of fire. It also pushes the player back when shot from the hip, just as a testament to how ridiculously overpowered this weapon is.

1 Silly: X-2 Antenna

Fallout New Vegas X-2 Antenna

The X-2 Antenna is a really interesting melee weapon, being added in an add-on after the initial launch of the game. The weapon originally came off of the Big Mountain Research And Development Center, where it served as part of a repulsive field. The weapon scrambles electrical signals on impact, which gives the player a distinctive edge over robots and power-armor users.
