The Fallout series is filled with classic weapons and armor, but none are quite as popular as Power Armor. It's integral to the franchise, as shown by the fact that Power Armor was the first asset developed for Fallout 4. In Fallout 3 and 4, the Brotherhood of Steel have a big presence that can’t be missed and there are even remnants of Enclave Power Armor. This makes the powerful mecha suits easy to obtain in those games as you can generally just follow the main quest.

They were recently added to Fallout 76, too, with a brand new questline. The BoS are mostly absent from Fallout: New Vegas and do not play a central role in the Mojave. However, you can still find a group of BoS soldiers and get a full set of Power Armor. It's extremely strong, so you should find it before tackling some of the great quests you might have missed.

Step 1. Either Get Lockpicking to 100 Or Meet Veronica

To gain access to the Brotherhood of Steel’s bunker, you will need to be level 100 at lockpicking. However, if you don’t want to level up that skill, you can also find a companion called Veronica.

She is an undercover Brotherhood Scribe in the 188 Trading Post. Recruit her as your companion as she can grant you access to the bunker. She might not be the best permanent companion in Fallout: New Vegas, but Veronica is certainly useful for this quest.

Step 2. Travel to Hidden Valley Bunker

The Hidden Valley Bunker is located South West of Sloan, a mining settlement just outside of Goodsprings. Travel to the bunker and you will see that there a few different entrances. Find the entrance carved into a hill with a tree stump on it. Once you are inside, go down the stairs and Veronica will interact with the intercom to gain access to the Brotherhood’s base.

Step 3. Speak with Ramos

Ramos is the guard you will meet when you first enter the Bunker. Finish the conversation with him amicably and make your way to the Elder as he suggests. Remember where he is, as Ramos is an important part of some other Brotherhood quests that you will complete.

Step 4. Help Elder McNamara or Head Paladin Hardin

Fallout New Vegas Paladin Hardin

Elder McNamara will request your help in finding the lost holotapes on some dead Brotherhood soldiers across the wasteland. If you leave the room to start this quest, a man named Hardin will approach you. He will ask for your help in overthrowing the Elder. Either path will grant you a suit of Power Armor and the necessary training, so follow whichever you prefer.

Step 5. Complete the Initiation Quest

Once you have either helped or overthrown McNamara, you will be given a quest to initiate you into the Brotherhood. If you helped McNamara, this quest is Eyesight to the Blind. If you helped Head Paladin Hardin, it is Tend to Your Business. Once you have completed either quest, you will be granted a set of T-45d Power Armor. You will also receive the perk Power Armor Training, which is required to use it.

With that, you can now venture through the Mojave, safe in the knowledge that you have some of the best armor in Fallout: New Vegas. However, there are plenty of other unique armor items in New Vegas that you should find.
