The best Super Smash Bros. Ultimate crossovers are once more taking place in the Mii Fighter roster, as the Vault Boy from the Fallout series is coming to the game as DLC for the Mii Gunner.

Not every character can make it into the Super Smash Bros. Ultimate series, due to how much work goes into developing even a single fighter. One compromise is releasing DLC outfits for the Mii characters (the Mii Brawler, the Mii Gunner, and Mii Swordfighter). The DLC Mii roster has included characters like Sans from Undertale, the protagonists of Persona 3 Persona 4, and Cuphead.

A new Super Smash Bros. Ultimate Direct was held on the official Nintendo YouTube channel, which announced that Min Min from ARMS was coming to the game as the first character in the second Fighters Pass. Several new DLC Mii Fighters were also announced, including Ninjara from ARMS, Heihachi from Tekken, and Vault Boy from Fallout.

Vault Boy has appeared in every entry in the mainline Fallout series. He is the mascot of the Vault-Tec Corporation and appears in numerous illustrations throughout the games. It's also possible to collect Vault Boy bobblehead dolls in later Fallout games, which grant permanent stat boosts and are highly sought after by players. The Mii Gunner version of Vault Boy uses a raygun weapon and is seen stroking Duck Hunt Duo at the end of the trailer, which is a reference to a recurring canine companion that can join the player throughout the Fallout series, named Dogmeat.

There was a certain degree of disappointment from Super Smash Bros. fans when it was revealed that an ARMS character was coming to the game, and many people likely still feel that way after the Min Min trailer. The fact that there is representation from the Fallout series is going to be more exciting to some than another first-party Nintendo rep.
