Family Guy is, and has been, a fan favorite. You can tell by the prolific amount of fan art available of its female characters. Heck, no one is complaining! Fans love the show so much that, through their purchasing power alone, they convinced Fox to bring it back after it had been canceled. It’s won five Emmy awards, so it does not just rely on humor to make it the success it is.

But even Seth MacFarlane didn’t predict its massive success. He originally started the project as a series of short animations made especially for MADtv. It may not have the best reputation in the humorous cartoon community (remember that beef South Park had with the writing when they made their two-parter, “Cartoon Wars?”). It’s crazy to think that some of our most beloved—or most hated—characters have changed so much. Like, did you know that Meg’s voice actor has been replaced four times? She started life as Lacey Chabert (think Gretchen Wieners from Mean Girls), who stopped to focus on school and her work on Party of Five. There were two different actors for the pilot, but eventually they settled on fan favorite, Mila Kunis.

Given the show’s long history, there is something for everyone to enjoy, including a Star Wars parody trilogy that was okayed by Lucas himself! The only condition was the characters had to look like they do in the movies, which is what spawned the idea for a trilogy. But enough gabbing! On with the show!

20 Lois, The French Maid

Okay, so I figured we should start the ball rolling with the good stuff. Lois here is dressed as the classic staple: the French maid! Lois represents the quintessential mother and wife figure as Family Guy is a spoof of classic sit coms. It is little wonder she has, therefore, wandered so deeply into our hearts.

After all, many of us dream about such a figure.

Toss her into an outfit like this, and, YOWZA! She is the complete vision. The details of this piece are perfect, from the bows on her high heels to her half-lidded gaze. Plus, that shade of red lipstick is divine.

19 Dial Meg For Mania

via: katiramoon.deviantart.com

Here we have Meg looking very Un-Meg-like. The style is almost anime, but not quite. She is obviously in her 20’s, and, with those tats, is looking like she is ready to kick some major butt. Completely unrelated note, but she looks like a character from the Mortal Instruments, covered in rune tattoos.

Considering the title, Dial Meg for Mania, one can imagine her out there, hunting demons alongside Isabelle. Her golden eyes seem to glow, and the lighting in the piece seems to mimic that. The colors are done so well that the piece seems dynamic. You can almost see her hair blowing in a warm breeze. The background also lends itself to that sense of movement, that dynamism. Plus, those lips look incredibly kissable.

18 Lois Cosplays Jessica Rabbit

Lois looks positively like a knockout. I am not sure I completely understand that outfit in that location, but who is going to complain? Lois is dressed up like another fan favorite, Jessica Rabbit. We are all hopefully familiar with Roger Rabbit’s well-endowed wife (yes, wife!) from the movie Who Framed Roger Rabbit.

Well, here we have our very own Lois indulging in a bit of cosplay.

Whatever she is doing dressed that way, the tropical location is perfect for dreams. Maybe Lois is singing to Peter, a la Jessica Rabbit. If so, hopefully she miraculously has Jessica’s throaty singing voice. While we all love Lois, and rightfully so!, she has a bit of a…strong accent. Now, I haven’t heard her sing, but I imagine it, and that’s enough for me.

17 Multiverse Meg

Ah, we all know this episode. Remember it? It is called “Road to the Multiverse” and in it, Stewie has somehow garnered access to parallel universes. Stewie takes Brian on a tour of several different universes, and we get to see the family in various stages of animation.

The two have a series of crazy adventures, including making it to a universe where dogs are the dominant species. They break the remote when Brian tries to take it from Stewie, determined to stay in a world dominated by dogs. However, Stewie gets sent to the pound to be put down later, and Brian is forced to rescue him with the human version of himself. Lucky for them, dog-Stewie had made a remote that could transport them back to their own universe.

16 Film Star Lois

This seems like quite the creative picture to me. I would never, ever have thought to remake our beloved Lois as a classic film star, long, shimmery and sparkly dress included. She lounges, long, long legs crossed playfully. I love that the artist kept her classic blue (cerulean?) circle earrings as a nod to her traditional outfit. Other than those pieces of simplistic jewelry, she positively oozes glamour.

She just screams Yowza here!

She is just a little bit sassy too, which is another nice touch for the character. She is normally so thoughtful and sweet, seeing her with a bit of bite to her personality is a refreshing change! With that expression on her face, she might even be about to pounce at the viewer and lunge right off the screen.

15 Stylish Meg

Back to Meg! Only, this time, she is a few years older. Otherwise, she seems untouched. I mean, overlooking certain aspects of her, ahem, character development. Clearly. I think that type of shirt is called a boat-neck? I am unsure. I never really studied fashion too closely. Whatever it is called, it is a nice change on our favorite animated sitcom’s daughter.

Although, I have to say, that shade of pink is apparently passé.

That’s right, readers. This year’s color is no longer “millennial pink,” but lavender! So, I suppose, Meg’s glasses are a step ahead of the curve, even if her shirt and beanie are not. Also, can I just say that I so wish I could wear that shade of pink lipstick? It’s so perfectly 80s. I love it!

14 Lois In A New Style

What is there to say about this piece that it does not say for itself quite, quite clearly? I mean, her outfit has been changed, but I would definitely call that an enhancement, if you catch my drift.

Lois would absolutely shine in Star Wars. Can you see it? We can.

She is spunky, sassy and takes no lip from anyone. Quite like a certain Galactic princess we all know and love. She wears the famous hair buns quite well, and that white shift dress fits her like a glove. To say nothing of those gogo boots...

13 MerMeg!

via: week85.deviantart.com

Oh, dear! I have thrown caution to the wind and have skipped order for just this picture. Look, another picture of Meg Griffin, once again as a mermaid. This one is much less Disney’s Little Mermaid, Ariel, and more Meg as a fantastical creature.

Though, again, I am a bit confused by her outfit.

She has on her beanie, her glasses, and a shirt that I am almost absolutely certain makes swimming more difficult. But heck, who is truly complaining when Meg looks as cute as she does here? Her hair is her classic adorable bob cut, but she has on some false lashes and lots of eye shadow to make her seem glamorous. Speaking of, how does eye shadow work underwater? Is it magical? I’m going to go with that, rather than simply wonder what brand is that fab to last beneath the waves.

12 Yoga Mom Lois Goes Dancing

Lois looks pretty freaking fabulous here, does she not? Her expression makes it completely clear, too, that she knows she is rocking it in those heels. Those bangles are straight out of the 70s, and I am loving it.

She is ready for a disco, especially with that cosmic take on her typical earrings. I imagine Peter feels like the luckiest guy alive on date night, and if he does not, well, then that is just positively a crime. Though, let’s be honest—those chunky heels are definitely a throwback to the early 2000’s rather than a 70’s disco. Then again, those pants don’t look entirely like jeans. Maybe leggings or yoga pants. Who can say what Lois is up to in this outfit, but, again, no one is going to complain. She looks great.

11 A Peek Into Meg's Future

via: ashiva-k-i.deviantart.com

Okay, so, there is a lot going on in this picture, and I think we should discuss it. This sort of reads as Multiverse Meg, but is apparently just Meg on her 21st birthday. It's nice to know that future-Meg turns out a lot like Multiverse Meg, if only because I think she would like that. She is leaning against a couch, maybe in her own place, maybe at her parents', but seems relaxed regardless. There is a stuffed bear on her lap, and it seems to be alive? And magical?

Why am I totally fine with this?

I can't say, but I am. It's almost as if Meg here is a version of Hermione from Harry Potter. Maybe she cast a little spell on her teddy for a bit of nostalgic fun on her birthday, as a reminder of the childhood she's outgrown? Awwww.

10 Jinkies, Guys!

via: zrofrost.deviantart.com

Can you picture a cuter crossover than this because I can't! Back in the day (coughcoughThe90'scough), when I was a child, if I could not sleep, I would turn on Scooby Doo, Where Are You! and let the antics of one overgrown Great Dane and the rest of the gang lull me to sleep as they uncovered mysteries and stopped bad guys. This piece is perfect just because of that!

It hits you right in the nostalgia.

Lois makes the perfect Daphne, wouldn't you say? She not only has the red hair, but she is kind and thoughtful the way Daphne is. Was? Would Daphne technically be older than Lois? That's a weird thought. Meg makes a great Velma too, as they both are brunettes with glasses who are a little on the awkward, but always lovable, side.

9 Meg Apparently Likes Cosplay

via: supersaf.deviantart.com

Did you miss Meg? Were you wondering what picture I had found next to tempt and tantalize? Did you think it would be just one? Ha! Ha, I say! Fooled you. I did not just find one picture of Meg for your viewing pleasure. I found ten in one.

We have Meg dressed as a hopeful Dorothy from the Wizard of Oz, and a curious Alice on her adventures in Wonderland, as well as Meg doing the hula, posing as what must be Cleopatra, jumping for joy as a cheerleader, and taking aim as Robin Hood. She is belting out an opera, decked out in Viking gear, as well as smiling as Snow White. She is the Cheese Maiden (think That 70s Show), and a roaming cave girl.

8 Beam Me Up, Lois!

via: amac145.deviantart.com

If you are not a Star Trek fan, what are you even doing here? You know, aside from enjoying yourself, which you are free to keep doing. Here we have Lois, ready to boldly go where no one has gone before and explore some strange new worlds.

I would trust Commander Lois to guide us safely home.

Wouldn’t you? And we can be assured that this is Commander Lois, not random red-shirt-about-to-die Lois, given the title. This is not the command gold of the original series, but command crimson (okay, red, but crimson sounds better with “command,” don’t you think?) of Next Generation. Next-Gen-Best-Gen, am I right? Okay, now that I either have you cheering in agreement or throwing things in anger, let us move on to the next image!

7 Classic Sci-Fi Lois And Meg

Let us keep up momentum with the space theme, shall we? Here we have Lois and Meg together, flying through space in some pretty awesome-looking suits. Of course, this image is based on a 1940’s science fiction magazine called “Startling Stories,” which makes this even cooler because it is retro. I love the instruments they both are using to propel themselves forward.

They look like laser-skis but are quite obviously not.

More props to these two being able to navigate through space thus attired, with those heels coupled with explosions going on all around them. I would love to know the story behind this. Is it a parallel universe? Did they somehow get recruited into a top-secret space program that they cannot tell their family about? Whatever it is, I am glad it is happening.

6 Lois Is Here To Save The Day

Misfitcorner has provided us with a startlingly lovely version of Lois. This time, she has been done up in traditional media (perhaps copic markers?) in a very generous version of the Green Lantern. Very, very generous, indeed.

Dear reader, I must make another confession. I am not very well-versed in the Green Lantern mythos. I know enough to know that there are differently colored Lanterns, each with their own power to draw from. That being said, I still adore this picture. I love how her earrings have been incorporated into her outfit. Heck, I even like the stylized fists she is making while her ring glows in power. I even love the very simplified shading, as it adds dimension to the piece that flat colors simply would miss.

5 Progression Of Multiverse Meg

Okay, okay, okay. I adore this image, and you want to know why? It is because you get to see the artist’s progression from sketch, to flat colors, to fully finished project. And, again, I think it is everyone’s favorite version of Meg—the Multiverse Meg wherever everyone was extra attractive, even poor, put upon Meg.

Meg Griffin seems to be just casually strolling around, up to who knows what.

Mischief? Trouble? Knowing what we know of Meg, probably not, but we can imagine. The way she balances in those heels is commendable, so whatever she is doing, let us hope that it does not involve running or rocky terrain. I can’t tell if she is on a catwalk doing some modeling, or if that is a sidewalk and the street, but wherever it is, let’s just be thankful for this artist, shall we?

4 Bunny Girl Lois

Bunny Girl Lois is so cute, I just can’t even. Yes, that is right. I have officially lost every last one of my evens. What does that leave me with? A bunch of odds? I suppose that is all right by me. Where was I? Right. Lois as Bunny Girl. I really enjoy this color scheme. The artist could have gone with the typical black-and-white associated with this kind of outfit, but he chose not to.

He made it colorful, like Lois.

It is a calming turquoise that matches Lois’ softness and her sweetness, too. The burgundy-red of her lipstick pops all the more because of the soft pastels of the surrounding image, which is another nice touch. All in all, I think we can agree that this is a great, fabulous, fantastic picture.

3 Teacher Lois

There is so much to love about this one, am I right? It combines two of our favorite things! Lois Griffin and teachers that keep us up an night! Well, maybe not for eeeeveryone. Ah, for many of us, it was a time that is so very hard to forget. You remember that, right?

All the helpful teachers, perching themselves on their desks and looking at you through their glasses.

Well, Lois here mimics that, but in the best way possible. Instead of looking, say, too stern, she looks like the sort of teacher who would encourage you to raise your... hand.

2 Happy Ho-Ho-Holidays From The Griffins

I definitely think we are ending this list on a high note. What do you say? Is this not an adorable and sweet picture? There we have Lois, clearly dressed up as Mrs Claus, while Peter rocks a beardless Santa Claus look. Who knows—maybe he shaved just for Lois as part of her Christmas present? The decorations and mistletoe in the corners add an extra bit of cuteness to the scene.

Hey, I know what you may be thinking.

It’s a little early in the year to be breaking out the Christmas spirit. But come on! Seeing Lois all dolled up and smiling so sweetly at Peter—doesn’t that just fill you right up with some holiday cheer? Who’s in the mood to sing some carols with me?

1 Meg Is Ariel!

via: darthraner83.deviantart.com

Okay, dear reader, confession time. Of all the classic Disney movies (eg, nothing from the last ten years), The Little Mermaid is my absolute favorite. So what better pairing than Meg Griffin and Ariel? Ariel…do mermaids not have last names? She is the daughter of King Triton, king of the ocean, so I suppose she does not really need one? Anyway, back to the point.

We have that parallel universe version of Meg posing for the viewer.

Though, you do have to wonder as to why she is still wearing her classic beanie. I mean, what are you protecting your hair from, Meg? Is it stylish to wear hats beneath the waves of the sea? Come to think of it, how do glasses work in the deep dark of the ocean? These are questions to which we shall never have an answer, dear reader.
