Cyberpunk 2077’s camera mode is pretty great, judging by all the incredible photos people have taken over the years, but it does have its limitations. For example, you can’t put the camera right up V’s nostril to see if he’s got anything going on in there.

That’s probably really only going to sell this mod to the ENT specialists in the audience, but the Photo Mode Unlocker 1.5 XL from modder SilverEzredes has a lot more going for it than just letting you put the camera in places where it doesn’t belong.

Besides disabling camera collision so you can put the camera literally wherever you want, the Photo Mode Unlocker 1.5 XL mod also reduces the character collision distances so you can squish Cyberpunk’s various characters a lot closer than CD Projekt Red ever intended. Combine that with the greater depth of field, camera rotation, and aperture size settings, and you can get a far greater variety of shots than Cyberpunk 2077’s vanilla camera mode.

In addition to the enhanced sliders, female-presenting V and male-presenting V get a bunch of new pre-set poses, Johnny gets five new poses, and everyone gets three new backgrounds. All poses also allow for the character to look directly at the camera regardless of what they’re wearing, too.

Installation is easy. Just extract the .7z file into Cyberpunk’s mod folder and you’re good to go. The file locations vary depending on your platform, but here are the default locations:

  • Steam: \SteamLibrary\steamapps\common\Cyberpunk 2077\archive\pc\mod
  • GOG: \GOGLibrary\Games\Cyberpunk 2077\archive\pc\mod
  • Epic: \EpicLibrary\Cyberpunk 2077\archive\pc\mod

In other Cyberpunk 2077 news, we finally know why Kerry won’t hook up with fem V thanks to an explanation from Paweł Sasko, quest designer at CD Projekt Red. According to Sasko, female-presenting V is just “not his type.” As dissatisfying as that answer might be, sometimes that’s just how life goes.
