Some wild but intriguing fan detective work claims to have uncovered all of Super Smash Bros. Ultimate's DLC characters. The work comes courtesy of a Discord group, which should always raise red flags, yet the method involved is something new to these message board "leaks." It involves Google Europe, trial and error, and an advertisement for the Smash Ultimate DLC Pass.

What we do know is that Nintendo has promised five DLC fighters to those who purchase the Fighters Pass. One of the fighters is already playable. Joker from Persona 5 arrived in April, leaving fans to speculate what four characters will come after him.

That's where PapaGenos comes in. PapaGenos is a YouTuber with several thousand subscribers who does a lot of speculation/theory videos. He invites his subscribers to chat and swap theories on his Discord channel. Their combined research recently yielded the Google Theory.

The fans supposedly found that searching certain video game character names on Google Europe followed by the phrase "Smash Bros. Ultimate" will result in an advertisement for the DLC Fighters Pass. For instance, searching "Joker Smash Bros. Ultimate" on Google Europe will prompt the ad to appear.

That might just be a coincidence. Nintendo might just be paying Google to make it so an ad for the DLC pass appears whenever the game is searched.

The thing is, PapaGenos' group allegedly searched "hundreds of names." Only five, however, prompted the DLC Pass advertisement to appear. Joker was one. The other four were Banjo (Banjo-Kazooie), Ryu Hayabusa (Ninja Gaiden), Doom Slayer (Doom), and Artorias (Dark Souls).

The Google Theory states that these names must be the names of the remaining four Smash Bros. DLC characters. That someone at Nintendo of Europe proactively made it so that searching for these characters leads to the DLC Pass site in anticipation of the day when they're made official. The fact that five names match five promised characters is further "evidence" that they are the DLC fighters.

As always, we take these "leaks" with a grain of salt. They are fun to talk about, however. If the Google Theory does prove true, these DLC fighters will certainly surprise fans. Banjo is highly-requested by fans. But Doom Slayer and Ninja Gaiden's Ryu would shatter expectations. Artorias, however, would be more shocking than anything. Dark Souls isn't exactly the first game people picture when you say "Nintendo."

If FromSoftware really wants a Smash rep, they should just port Sekiro to Switch and put Wolf in.
