Far Cry 3: Blood Dragon - Classic Edition has been added to the ESRB website, possibly hinting that the beloved expansion may be getting a standlone release. First discovered by VG24/7, the ESRB has awarded Far Cry 3: Blood Dragon - Classic Edition a Mature rating, meaning that the expansion could see a release similar to that of Far Cry 3: Classic Edition

Far Cry 3: Blood Dragon - Classic Edition was announced as part of the Far Cry 6 season pass, the details and contents of which were revealed during the Ubisoft Forward showcase back in June. It's unclear when the expansion will drop as a standlone release, if it ever does, but it's expected to launch alongside Far Cry 6 in similar fashion to how Far Cry 3: Class Edition launched alongside Far Cry 5.

As for what else you get with your Season Pass purchase, Ubisoft has what looks like a number of expansions in which players will be able to take on the role of the franchise's iconic villains such as Vaas Montenegro, Pagan Min, and Joseph Seed. We've seen very little of these expansions since Far Cry 6 still hasn't released yet, but it's likely we'll hear more news in the coming months.

Far Cry 6 itself is also shaping up to be quite a promising experience, with multiple gameplay details coming out in the past few days. According to an interview with world designer Ben Hall, Far Cry 6 won't revolve around the player and the world will feel like "it is running by itself," possibly in an attempt to make the game's world feel more alive.

Hall also explains that Far Cry 6 will run in 4K at 60fps on PS5 and Xbox Series X, but will also run quite well on PS4 and Xbox One for those who haven't yet made the jump to next-gen consoles.

Far Cry 6 will release on October 7 for PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, Google Stadia, and Amazon Luna. If you'd like to learn more about the game's story before launch, you can read our interview with narrative director Navid Khavari here.
