Ubisoft has revealed the first of three planned DLC for Far Cry 6 that will bring villains from previous installments into the most recent adventure. First up, we'll see the return of Vaas, the iconic villain from Far Cry 3. He'll appear in the Vaas: Insanity DLC, available on November 16. This add-on will put players in Vaas’ shoes as he attempts to survive a roguelike-inspired experience.

Once purchased, Vaas’ new adventure will be available from any of the HQ’s on Yara. Taking inspiration from popular roguelikes, the DLC will have Vaas begin the adventure with a simple pistol to protect himself. As the story progresses, he will need to find better weapons and unlock power-ups to become strong enough to survive the horrors that await deep within his psyche. This DLC will offer players a better understanding of the iconic Far Cry villain as it delves into his personal demons and what motivates him.

Also, Vaas’ original voice actor, Michael Mando, will reprise his role as the twisted villain for this DLC. Mando, known for his roles in shows like Better Call Saul and Orphan Black, has become a fan-favorite amongst the Far Cry Community for his portrayal of Vaas. Mando has not shied away from showing his eagerness to return to Vaas. In fact, he has been teasing fans about news of the DLC on his Twitter.

Vaas: Insanity is just the first of three “Become The Villain” DLC that Ubisoft has planned as part of the game’s Season Pass. As seen in a leak earlier this year, Vaas will be joined by other iconic Far Cry villains Pagan Min and Joseph Seed as they get their own roguelike adventures. Though, if villains aren’t really your thing, the game also has plans for several crossover missions. Not only will crossovers with horror series Stranger Things and classic film Rambo come to the game, but everyone’s favorite taco stand business owner Danny Trejo will be making an appearance on Yara.

While the reviews for Far Cry 6 have been generally positive since its release last month, the game was critiqued for its inability to really “shake up” Far Cry. However, this new DLC may be just the thing that injects some much-needed fresh air into the series when it lands on November 16.
