UPDATE: The Season Pass has now been officially revealed, and we have much more information here.

The antagonists of the Far Cry series have always been memorable. Each game is not only centered around them, but they’re also the face of any and all promotional activities. A leaked trailer for the Far Cry 6 season pass has suggested that we'll finally be able to take control of these iconic characters.

YouTube users in Russia have been seeing pre-roll ads for the Far Cry 6 season pass ahead of today’s Ubisoft Forward. It’s unclear whether the ad was supposed to be rolled out or someone made a mistake. One Redditor managed to grab the footage and upload it to Reddit.

The video shows three of the series’ most notable villains. Vaas, Pagan Min, and Joseph Seed. The montage also features the words “You are…” before each of their names, suggesting that players will be able to take control of them. It’s unclear in what capacity players will be able to take on the roles of the antagonists, but the vibrant and trippy setting of the video suggests that it may be some kind of hallucinogenic filled challenge mode.

Fan theories have been swirling ever since this leak surfaced, with some suggesting that it will be a short episodic series, delving into the motives of the villains. Others claim that it will merely be a glorified arcade mode. Regardless, the Ubisoft Forward is just hours away, and we’ll get all the details then.

The latest antagonist of the series will be military dictator Anton Castillo, played by Breaking Bad’s Giancarlo Esposito. The actor made a brief appearance at Summer Game Fest and spoke about his character. "This guy loves his country," Esposito said. "He wants to empower you." When asked who he studied, he said "the obvious choice is Fidel Castro, and the obvious choice is Cuba."

The actor also mentioned Adolf Hitler while talking about the inspiration for his character. Esposito’s mention of Castro was a bit contradictory to Ubisoft’s statement claiming that the game is not making any comment on "Cuba specifically".

Far Cry 6 is expected to launch on October 7 on PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X|S.
