The official FIFA 22 ratings have been released. The top 10 players in the La Liga are made up of players from just three teams: Atletico de Madrid, Barcelona, and Real Madrid.

Considering some of the financial troubles in La Liga currently, there is still a roster of world-class players available. Here's a closer look at the top 10 highest-rated players in La Liga, from lowest rated, to highest rated.

10 Frenkie De Jong - 87

FIFA 22 frenkie de jong fifa card

De Jong is up two ratings from 85 to 87 in FIFA 22. The Barcelona central midfielder has received a small boost to his Pace, Dribbling, Shooting, and Passing.

This small boost is justified by his performance in La Liga and the Champion's League last season, with 15 goal involvements in 51 appearances.

9 Sergio Aguero - 87

FIFA 22 aguero card

Aguero has dropped two ratings from 89 down to 87 in FIFA 22, his pace facing a particularly heavy hit, down from 78 to 71. His shooting stats are also reduced, 90 to 89, and his dribbling is down a point as well.

Aguero's FIFA 21 card wasn't the most popular card, mostly because of that poor pace stat, and his further reductions for FIFA 22 aren't going to make him any more popular. Still a decent pickup in the early days of FIFA, if you're lucky.

8 Luka Modric - 87

Luka Modric is, well, Luka Modric. His unfaltering performances for Real Madrid (and Croatia, in the Euros) have seen him retain almost exactly the same card as FIFA 21. In fact, he's actually seen a small improvement: an extra point in Defending, which seems fair enough.

Modric is always a solid choice, although players usually opt for someone with a bit more pace. Considering Modric is now 36, his solid 73 pace is more than enough for a midfielder, as long as FIFA 22's meta allows it. Let's hope so.

7 Luis Suarez - 88

FIFA 22 suarez card

To break the trend of downgrades in La Liga, Suarez actually receives a rating boost of 87 to 88 for FIFA 22. His game has matured at Atletico de Madrid, and he scored a total of 21 goals in 38 appearances. Suarez isn't quite back to his 89 rating from FIFA 20, but he's still a solid pick.

His card has been upgraded to 72 Pace, 84 Dribbling, and has retained that 90 Shooting rating that has always been the biggest reason to pick up Suarez. Will he be more useful than he was in FIFA 21? Only the meta will tell.

6 Toni Kroos - 88

FIFA 22 kroos card

Kroos has been 88 rated in FIFA since FIFA 20, and his card has remained...well, pretty much exactly the same. Yes, his FIFA 22 card has dropped another pace point, all the way down at 53, but his passing, dribbling, and shooting are all unchanged.

A solid midfielder, who in real life provides plenty of assists, his FIFA cards have never been...very popular. It's all because of that shocking pace. Despite the high rating, Kroos often decreases in value pretty quickly. Maybe FIFA 22 will be different, but we doubt it.

5 Karim Benzema - 89

FIFA 22 benzema card

Benzema retains his 89 rating, although he has gained a few stat points in some key areas. An extra two points in Pace, an extra point in Shooting, and an increase to his Physical stat might well make Benzema just a little more usable in FIFA 22.

It makes sense to receive a boost: Benzema scored 30 goals in 40 appearances for Real Madrid last season, including six goals in the Champions League. He's the highest-rated forward in La Liga.

4 Thibaut Courtois - 89

FIFA 22 courtois card

One of the first four goalkeepers in the top 10 highest-rated La Liga players, Courtois has floated around the 89-90 rating since FIFA 17. Solid at the back for club and country, the Belgian shot-stopper holds onto his 89 rating from FIFA 21.

His stats are...almost exactly the same, although he has received a small boost to positioning, up to 86 from 85. Who knows what those goalkeeper stats really mean, though.

3 Casemiro - 89

FIFA 22 casemiro card

Casemiro is one of the best central midfielders in the world, and his rating suggests that. He retains his 89 rating from FIFA 21 and his stats are almost exactly the same. He just loses a point in Physicality, which doesn't really make much sense, especially considering his standout performance against Liverpool in the Champion's League.

However, despite the impressive all-around stats, that 65 pace is usually a killer. There'll be an 82 rated La Liga CDM with 87 Pace that emerges from the fog in the next couple of weeks and no one will speak about Casemiro until his inevitable TOTS card in a year's time.

2 Ter Stegen - 90

FIFA 22 ter stegen card

Ter Stegen is the second-highest-rated player in La Liga, coming in at 90 rated. This is the third row in a year that he's retained his 90 rating and his stats have remained...exactly the same.

Not much to say about Ter Stegen's FIFA 22 card, other than he's as consistent as ever.

1 Jan Oblak - 91

FIFA 22 oblak card

Jan Oblak remains La Liga's highest-rated player for the third year in the row, maintaining the 91-rating which puts him firmly as the best goalkeeper in FIFA. His rating is absolutely justified after another impressive season with Atletico de Madrid. Doesn't look like Oblak is going anywhere.
