Looks like the long-awaited fourth season of Stranger Things may be one step closer to being finished. According to star Noah Schnapp, filming finally wrapped on the newest season of the sci-fi series last week. Schnapp, who portrays Will Byers on the show, revealed this information during a zoom interview where he also divulged that the show was working on a brand-new teaser of the season for fans.

During an interview, which you can catch a clip of over on fan account @SThingsSpoilers, Schnapp was asked if he was in the middle of filming for the series. While actors tend to be tight-lipped about such things in case of spoilers, the actor quickly responded that filming had just wrapped. In fact, he alluded that it wasn’t just him or the core cast that had finished filming, but the entire season was complete, as he stated, “yeah we’re done…and they are finally done”.

Not only did Schnapp share that filming had wrapped, but he also revealed that the show was working on putting together a new teaser for fans. Fans got their first look at the new season last month with a quick 20-second teaser filled with shots from the previous three seasons interspersed with new footage. While the new footage gave looks at the characters, it did not offer too much regarding story. Hopefully, this new teaser will provide a bit more detail on what the season will focus on.

The fourth season of Stranger Things has been quite a while in the making, and that is largely due to the Covid pandemic. However, while promoting his recent film, Free Guy, executive producer Shawn Levy shared with The Hollywood Reporter that the delay for season four was also due to the season being “built to be by far the most ambitious, cinematic, sprawling, and epic season that we’ve ever done”. He promises that the wait will be worth it for what they have planned.

While no release date has been offered for the new season, the previous teaser revealed that the show will return sometime in 2022. Until then, fans will just have to occupy themselves with the first three seasons streaming now on Netflix.
